Hey folks,

I will be in Scottsdale at the end of October for a few days and want to get in a round of reasonably priced golf with my wife. I have been thinking about:

Camelback
Dove Valley
McCormick Ranch
Sanctuary
TPC Desert Course
Sunridge Canyon
Talking Stick
Eagle Mountain

Possibility of getting onto Gainey Ranch Golf Club via a case of "mistaken identity" with a friend's Club Corp associate membership.

Any recommendations? I know that several people have spoken highly of Sunridge Canyon - what else on this list is any good?

I am likely only going to get out once, so I would like to play a course that doesn't eat me up, but also provides some nice scenery and a "desert golf experience"

Thanks.

I would definately recommend Sunridge canyon. Of all the courses that I played that was my Favourite. Grayhawk was nice, Service there was great. I think it was the Raptor Course that I played and another nice one is Troon.

I played the Stadium course at TPC, it was nice but wasn't one I would play again.

you HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE to play

We-Ko-Pa, its unbelievable. Scenery, conditioning, and challenging.

Others that are good, but may not be in Scottsdale
are
Whirlwind(Troon experience for 1/2 the price)
ASU Karsten is the university course built by Ping founder and donated to the school. Its in the shadows of ASU stadium, and very close to campus!!!

The most amazing golf experience of my life was an afternoon at Desert Highlands. (http://www.deserthighlandsscottsdale.com/golf/default.htm) If you can "borrow" a membership and somehow get yourself reciprocal play there, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Gold Canyon's another good track if you're really looking for that desert feeling.

It's about 20 minutes east of downtown Scottsdale though right off of U.S. 60.

Two championship 18's...

My $.02 worth, a round at the TPC Stadium course is a must.

If for no other reason than to see exactly how you stand up against the course which is the home of the rowdiest, loudest fans in all of golf.
Btw... the course isn't bad either ;)

But for some reason, I find it a lot easier to play on TigerWoods 2004
