DRIVER: Taylor Made R540XD Tour Issue 9.0° Left Hand, 400 cc, TP Fujikura Fit On! 11 SIX S-flex, 45.5" long. Taylor Made PGA Tour Van assembled and hit by Mike Weir. The shaft alone retails for $260 USD brand new.

Note: Regular issue R540XD in LH were marked 9.5° loft
Tour issue R540XD in LH were marked 9.0° loft
Condition: 9 of 10 c/w Taylor Made R5 series headcover
Asking: $400 CAD with Fujikura shaft or $250 CAD with steel shaft
or Trade: For a set of Mizuno MP-30 forged irons (either LH or RH)

Background Info.: I bought this tour issue LH driver from a teaching pro in the USA. His son built the driver when he was employeed by Taylor Made. He worked the tour van for a number of years, and built a ton of equipment for the best players in the world.

I'm not sure i'll ever part with this Launcher, as it's a fantastic club. Until my swing fell apart recently, i'd been having the best driving year of my life!

That's interesting. Never knew Mike Weir played an 540XD let alone a Fuji Six shaft (I'm positive he's a 757 guy). Always thought it was 580 that he used when he won the masters and then the 580XD Tour and now the r7.

It was built for Mike. He hit it on the range and said the shaft was too soft for his liking. I'm positive it never seen tour play, but it was built for him to evaluate. I'm friends with the father of the builder who worked the TM tour van. He ended up giving the driver to his father (a club ho, and a club pro) as a gift, he played with it for 6 months, then sold it to me.
