Anyone have any suggestions for reasonably priced courses in the Vegas area?

I'm going to be there the week of Oct 17. A co-worker did a quick check of green fees on the web and they range from $120US and up.....a little out of my price range.

TIA

I stayed at the wynn 2 months ago and their course was for 440$us and didn't look special at all. I suggest you go to Venetian and talk to their golf assistance booth they have a course that is a copy of the British Open course for around 250$us. Also if you want to experience night golf look up Callaway Golf Course its a little but pretty 9 hole par 3 course and costs only 20-30$.

Here is a picture of the Callaway course

not sure of the rate, but get out to Henderson and play Reflection Bay. That's where I met the lovely Natalie Gulbis last November. Nice course too!!!

Reflection Bay is $$$$$ and very nice. It is at the Lake Las Vegas area in the Henderson County.

Additionally, if you hit the jackpot in the casino, two premium must play is Shadow Creek and Cascata ($500 USD all inclusive - better deal than Pebble Beach).

The Wynn Hotel just opened up their golf course this summer, it is right off the Strip if you don't want to venture too far away from there. It is well-designed, artificial, but the novelty is worth it.

$250US?!? $440US?!? $500US?!?

Yikes.

Thanks to all for their suggestions, but it looks like I'll be hitting the nickel slots instead of a golf ball.

'Reasonable' is a relative term, especially in Las Vegas.

Try to get paired up with locals. I'm sure there's a golf forum like TGN for Vegas people.

I played a gated community course called Rhodes Ranch. I forget what the rate is since I payed the visitor rate once, got paired up with three locals that worked in various casinos and they told me to just tell the pro shop that I'm a resident the next time and you get a much lower rate. It was by far the most reasonably priced courses that was still fun to play. Mind you, if you slice/hook wildly, stay away as there are houses all around the course - many with nets, but still... don't take farmboy if you go... (actually, I'd like to see farmboy play it, LOL!!! - not really fair comment as I don't know that farmboy lost all the balls at AG due to being wild off the tee...)

Here's the link for Rhodes:

Biggest tip I got from the guys I golfed with was:

"When you get to Vegas, don't go to the casino until you're about to leave. Do everything else, visit Hoover Dam, golf, check out the sights, whatever, just don't gamble until your last day" According to them, they've seen way too many people come into Vegas, drop their luggage off in their rooms and hit the casino before they've even unpacked. Too many of these inviduals are then broke for the rest of their trip or cashing out their credit cards, hoping to make back their losses.

This is so true. Played a corse in Henderson called Tuscany. Very nice course. For our 2-some, it cost about $125 USD each. We got paired up with a local who told us he only paid $35 USD.
Best advice then is...make friends with a local.:D

I just read this ad in Golf Digest about Mesquite Nevada being a new destination for golfers near Las Vegas ..."without the big city congestion and steep price tags."

www.golfmesquitenevada.com (http://www.golfmesquitenevada.com)

not sure exactly how far away it is from LV but weekday 18 holes is $80 USD

I was there in April
Played Wolfcreek (golf Digest Top 50 course)
and Falcon Ridge .

Golf is $80-150 depending on the time of year. Visually Wolfcreek is the most unbelievable course I have ever seen.

Driving distance from Vegas is 1.5 hours
Gambling at all the resort hotels
If you are looking to combine golf and gambling, it is truely a great place to go. But keep in mind that although you fly into Vegas, ITS NOT VEGAS!!:D

You're lucky, the PGA Tour is in town the week you are there. Go watch the big boys light it up at the LV Invitational!
