Been thinking about playing this course.
Anyone out there who'd played there care to share their experience/opinions, it would be much appreciated.
note: I am not talking about Maple of Ballantrae which I played.

Awesome course. Very well kept. Green areas were immaculate with perched greens w/ roll-off from all sides...beautiful. Lots of slopes in the greens which in my opinion were fast when I played. Driving range was also immaculate with the hitting areas being like carpet as they were leveled and cut. I truly enjoyed this course.

Great course, would recommend it to anyone, with the caveat that I think they are a couple dollars overpriced...$80/round through the week. But - if they ar emeeting their P&L requirements, who am I to argue!
Playable by all handicaps, and some great greens - could get nasty if the pinsetter had a bad night!
Was the best shape of any course I played this summer...including The National...

Finally played it yesterday...Thanks to all for the insights...
With all the houses nearby, I felt like I was playing in Florida or Arizona.
It is a very good course, well-kept, and very playable...

Another course which REALLY suprised me in the way it's greens were kept was West View. I played there on Sunday and was very impressed with the way the greens were manicured, considering the amount of play they get over a season. Worth checking out if you haven't played there yet IMHO.

Was the best shape of any course I played this summer...including The National...I like Ballantrae as I have said many times. The regular price of $80.00 may be a touch overpriced but the whole business plan revolves around Package holders. Ballantrae offers greens fee packages (I believe 30 rounds for $1800.00, taxes included!), fully transferable and each ticket includes a warm-up bucket. You get a couple of other benefits as well. That brings your round including range to $60.00. I doubt you could find a better deal within 40 minutes of downtown Toronto. I believe the percentage of players who are package holders is above 60%.
Cheers.

And on top of this, for certain tee off time, such as all day Monday, or Saturday and Sunday after 1pm, power cart is also included for the ticket holder. Now that is an even more attractive deal.
