I started golfing about 5 months ago and went for a round of 9 hole at Hunters it was a par 34 with 2 par 5s, 1 par 4 and the rest were reasonable size par 3's I ended up shooting a 46 the first round and decided to go again and shot a 45 so thats a total of 91 for 18 hole par 68. Is that a good score for someone that has been playing for about 5 months??

Definitely a good score for a player taking up the game for the first season. Some just have a natural talent for it, while others (like myself) keeping grinding at it!

Some pro's still have trouble with their short game and putting so if you've got that semi figured out in your first year then you should be aiming in the 70's in the very near future!:)

What course did you hit? The same one?.....I always find that everytime I think about my score is the time I really screw up my score, so I always try and just play my game and not worry about what will be the final outcome.....

Wow Monenzad, you are a true golf nut to be playing in chilly mid-November weather! And that's a really great score for a beginner.

Ya my friend and I are like addicted to it. I told my friend that I will go golfing till theres enough snow to stop me this year :) so lets hope the snowfall drops late this year. And ya Ego I went to the same course again and your right you can be golfing perfectly and than you think of your score and u screw up the next shot, this shows you how big of a mental game golf is.

WOW! Thats a great score for 5 months of golfing! You must have a natural talent for golf. Your scores show you're consistent, so I think you have the basics down. Probably a few mental errors here and there, a couple of missed putts or a bad hole. However, you should try playing different courses. Its tests your course management skills and club selection. Playing the same course leaves you with rather same shots most of the time.
I believe you mentioned you played Hunter's Glen, I never played there before but heard its decent.
Whats the weakest part of your game right now? What do you find is your next step in improving?

course rating of 69.2 and slope 117. Definitely not a bad score for an avg course. You should start tracking your handicap for fun, if you haven't already done so......

Is handicap the max amount of shots? I am really not sure what it is or how to keep track of it can you clear this up for me?

Try this :
http://golf.about.com/od/handicaps/l/blhandicapincal.htm

It has an online handicap caluculator and some explanations.
