Hi, I'm LC and just join this forum. I'm a total newbie to this game, although I have been practicing swings at driving ranges for couple months, but yet never get to the green. Possibly next season since now I feel shy to let people see me flying golf balls around. Let me work hard on my swings first before I approach the real game! Nice forum here, cheers everyone!

welcome LCYung. this is a great forum where you can learn lots.
before heading out to play on a golf course, it's more important to get a good grasp of the basic rules and etiquette than groovin' your 'perfect-swing'. enjoy.
it's ok to spray the ball left and right but keep pace and respect your fellow golfers and respect the Good Game (that means golfers in your foursome, ahead of you, behind you, and generally any patron of the course at the same time you're there).

I agree! I think the most important thing to learn in golf are rules and etiquette first and foremost. and having fun while doing it. :)
welcome to TGN!

Its nice to see a newbie take up the game. Don't get too embarassed, we have all been there. Getting the fundamentals down first will speed up your development. Nothing worse than spending 5 years fine tuning fudamentals that are all wrong. You might invest in a couple of hours of instruction to get youself off to the races. Above all enjoy / have fun. Remember even the pro's hit some bad ugly shots. We are no different, except he hit more of them ... Again, welcome to the forum !!!
