Does anyone else get blisters on their hands and fingers while playing a round? Ever since I changed my grip and swing I'm getting blisters on top of blisters on top of calouses on my hands when I play or go to the range. At least they are in the right spots of where I should be gripping the club. However they are starting to really hurt and make it hard to have a comfortable grip on the club. The friend I went to the range with last night gets them too.
Is this common? What does one do to prevent it?

yeah, it's pretty common with beginner/intermediate players.
best prevention: grip lighter.

Do you use a glove? I'll only get sore if I have a long practice session, but still never really find them to be that bad. I don't get blisters though. All I can really say is loosen the grip up a little and wear a glove if you don't already.

I do wear a glove but I think it's mainly just from practicing too long. Even my back is telling me the same thing.

I've always had this issue, and I've found the best way to deal with it is to buy a roll of waterproof adhesive medical tape (fabric preferred over plastic) from your local drug store and tape up your pressure points before you go out.
I'll be bringing some on Saturday if you would like to try it out. :D

3 BUCKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ouch............:help:That's what I usually do in a practice session. I take my time and concentrate on working on the fundamentals I've learned and correcting my mistakes in hopes that if I do it enough and work at it properly when I get to the course and swing naturally, this is the swing that will come out of my body.
That and I think I'm golf nuts.

I dont wear a glove and I dont get blisters.
Im too cheap to wear gloves and work keeps my hands pretty tough anyway.
Full cord grips more than take care of any slippage issues.

The tape that Section31 suggested really works for me, I do that AND where gloves. makes a huge difference.

i've tried this once ...
left-hand: glove & tape @ friction points: worked fine.
right-hand: tape @ friction points ... after hitting a few balls the tape started to fray and smeared adhesive on my grips: didn't work fine.
... should i ditch the MichaelJackson/O.J.-1-glove routine and start wearing 2 gloves instead?

When I started, I got a few blisters.. I started wearing the bionic glove

I go to the dome three to four times a week, but no blisters anymore. The glove really seem to help my grip too...
warning: the glove is non USGA conforming, but for an older guy like me starting now, I figured I need the help..

maybe i'll give it a try ... i'll buy a right-handed glove tonight on the way home... besides, it might make it more enoyable to play those chillier rounds of autumn-golf. ... of course, my gloves will be mis-matched, but who'll notice? right?:)

I get a callous at the base of my little finger on my left hand, and a smaller one on the third finger. They've never really bothered me, even after this weekend where I played 72 holes in three days.
