Hi all,

Anyone play this course recently? Anything to watch for? What are the greens like now?

Thanks!

I have played Cherry Downs about five times with my former boss, who is a member....and that is the only way I would play this course.....for FREE!!!

The greens are the fastest, hardest, most severe greens I played in my life.....Just touch the ball and it goes off the green.....my fondest memory is reaching a Par 5 in two and then 5 putting for a 7:eek:

Course is actually in excellent condition, a fun course and beautifully laid out. However at this time, repairs are going on with several missing 2x3 strips of grass along the green fringes around about half of the greens, but didn't seem to bother us too much. The greens are definitely challenging (faster than anything I've putted on this year, it will definitely help to have course/green knowledge when I play there again!

Cherry is in excellent condition aside from a few minor spots around some greens where they are testing different kinds of grass. The greens are very very fast and have some incredable breaks but that is part of golf and although you may become frustrated with the outcome of each hole it will only make you a better golfer in the end. I have played it quite a few times this year and am seriously considering joining Cherry/Club Link next year. I just finished playing at round at Rattlesnake today and Emeral Hills a few weeks ago even though both courses are ranked higher on Club Links scale as a platnumn course compared to Cherry there is still something about Cherry that continues to attract me. It doesn't have as nice of a club house or off course facilites as Rattler or Emerald but the course it self is really what matters. There is a great varity of challanging holes and a uniqueness that Cherry has which kinda gives it an old country look. You will not be dissapointed if you play it with an open mind and look at all it does have to offer.
