especially for the avid golfers......how are you able to get out and go golfing? what excuse do you have to use to be able to play, or does your wife (or husband!) understand your passion for golf and let you play anytime you want?

this is also can apply to all the golfers who have bf's or gf's.....and their significant others constantly complain about how golf takes up too much of the time that could be spent together! :D

when you get married, it will become harder. free time is a luxury and is at a premium.. But as long as your partner(politically correct) understands or enjoys it too, it is much easier. For that reason, I can still play a couple of time a month. I actually played two rounds of golf at the Dep. Rep. resort we went too. :D

Or... if they have a hobby too, then once a week, you go do what you like, and he/she goes and does what he/she likes... (like shopping... lol)

hehehe...very touchy subject...but here it goes!! I like to play golf about once a week, more if I had the time but once a week is a good "get away" from work and everything else. Time is the biggest issue, a round these days takes about 5 hrs, not including travelling time and grabbing a bite or beer after the round. So I understand why golf can be an all day event. Its great that my gf is somewhat into golf, she will play with me and the boys occasionally which is fine with me, as long as there are times when I can go out just by myself. Its not a complaint but as a bf (in my opinion) we have to "take care" of our gf's on the course too. ie: help them find their balls, pull their carts up a steep hill, tell them which club to use etc etc. This sometimes takes away the total relaxing and concentration of the game. Its good to be able to chill out and do your own thing during a round. Thats my 2 cents...now somebody :help: me!!! hahaha

When it was just the wife and me it was not a problem. With the emergence of kids, BIG PROBLEM.

The wife had no big problem since I normally played on the weekend. I would book the earliest times I could, normally 6:30, and be home by 11:00. Thus much of the day was still available (although she complained when I spent much of the rest of the day on the couch, lol).

With kids, there is a much greater committment required on the weekends, but also many more benefits. Golf will always be there, kids at this age will not.

Why would anyone form a partnership with a person who would put limitations on your behaviour? Isn't that what mothers are for?

That's sweet... that's also why I don't think I want kids yet, not until around the 30's.

Thus much of the day was still available (although she complained when I spent much of the rest of the day on the couch, lol). I could have written this. I play early morning on weekends with a few buddies and we usually get home as our ladies are getting up for brunch. Bad thing about it is we leave the course before they sell beer so we cant even have a cold one after our round.:(

So in a nutshell.........

1 early round with your buddies = $40
3 birdies and 6 bogies for a 3 over par 74 = winnings of $15
NO beer before and home by 11am = more savings
Major Brownie Points" for bringing home a Timmies ................................... Priceless.:D :D
