Hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you have played Caledon Woods and if so what you thought of the course? How were the conditions? Is it scenic, fun to play?
All opinions are welcome.
Thanks

Nice course, really made some changes to it once clublink took over, not very scenic, but a nice course overall, elevation changes...not overly long , pretty good shape....

okay course, a lot of short par 4's on the front nine, but lengthens out on the back. 16 is DUMB but 17 and 18 are okay. Conditions on the fairways are decent. Had major problems on a lot of greens though. Groundskeeper got a lot of crap for cutting it too short during the heat wave. Now they are too scared to cut and some greens are too LONG. the ones that got damaged are still healing.
food is quite good..hahahaha
overall I think Highlang Gate is more fun

Hey guys,
Just got back from Caledon Woods and have some opinions on the course. I thought that overall the course is good. It has some really pretty holes and some really easy holes, but none-the-less it was enjoyable EXCEPT, and this is a rather large except, the greens were in horrible shape. I don't know if they are that way because of the bad year we've had this year or because they are just normally like that. I hope they are not normally like that cuz the course is very enjoyable and bad greens would really take away from the experience.
So overall, although not the best clublink course it's definitely a good one if your looking to go out and have some fun. Its not overly challenging (especially the front nine), but it makes up for it with some interesting and pretty holes.

as I mentioned they had trouble with the greens THIS year...last year it was fine...so hopefully we'll have a mild winter and a good spring to recover it.

Is there a practice area there like at Cherry Downs or Glencairn?

they always tell you to use the driving range at the course across the street. Cherry downs is a nice course by the way, slick greens!

there's actually a great short game area, however practicing the short game is generally scorned by the high handicapper, so I understand why you missed it frank. ha ha just kidding. I think they only put it in mid-summer, after you played there.
