Not sure where your driving from...but it's worth the drive and the money from Durham Region. I've played there 3 times this year and the course was in great shape. That was in the dry spell so I would think it's all the better now...

Challenging layout... # 2 is a pretty tough par 5. Some other tight holes as well.

Designed by Graham Cooke who also did Oliver's Nest (just a reference point if you've played Oliver's). I would say visually Oliver's Nest is nicer, but Lindsay is a tougher layout. It's only 3 years old but it's come along nicely....

albatross, which of the 2 do you prefer?

i drove past Lindsay G&CC on my way to Ollie's nest this summer.

It looked quite open and I saw several pieces of heavy machinery on the course. It looked as if it were still under construction. But it wasn't under construction because there were several senior citizens enjoying their rounds of golf on the course.

Hmmm... Like I said...I played there 3 times this summer...didn't see any heavy machinery. It is definitely not under construction. Yes it has the perception of looking wide open..but it's not. Definitely lots of trouble to get in....It's tougher than Ollie's Nest...just look at the slope & ratings.

Sorry Jaydog...forgot to answer your last question.. Which of the 2 do I prefer.. I assume between Ollie's Nest and Lindsay.

I would have to say Oliver's Nest. It is more mature and visually more pleasing.

I can't figure out why Ollie's Nest slope got reduced...I'm sure it happened in the last few years.

The main reason I've played more of Lindsay this year were the numerous 2 for 1's in the Golf Access book. Olliver's Nest didn't have the same deal.

Don't let that sway anyone from at least trying Lindsay. It's a great course too.

I like the feel of Oliver's Nest, but I must admit, it's kind of a "feel good" course. Tougher wouldn't be such bad thing, although I've had one of my best rounds at Oliver's Nest.

Sounds like I'll have to put Lindsay Golf and Country Club on my list of "worth playing sometime" courses.
