Upon recent and very serious rumours of a Carter/Rose for Abdur-Rahim/Van Exel or Anderson trade, do u think we should trade Vince Carter away? Our franchise?? Let me know ur thoughts!

i'd love to see it but how can portland give up abdur-rahim? he's always contributing day in/day out and never complains. maybe there's something we don't know about him.
if vc does go, it might be the change he needs to get the spark back. he's definitely talented...just not here with us. ;)

VC is very talented, there is no denying that, it's just seems he has no heart to play here in Toronto.
I myself would like to see him stay and lead this franchise, but if he is not willing to step up to the role, then by all means trade him, but Toronto can't just trade him away and lose out big, that would ruin the franchise, must get another franchise player back in return.

I really like Vince too and I hope if he does start playing with another team, that he would play with the same passion and heart he did with us a few years back. If he is traded, I'd still cheer for him. But like Mok, if his heart's not in Toronto anymore, trade him and go with someone who'll bring new energy.
I'd rather not vote yes here coz I don't want to call him a whiner :p

Players that are paid ridiculous sums of money to play basketball or any other sport for that matter should have no right to complain & should not need some sort of "spark" to get them to play well! Vince stands to make $90 million on his contract with the Raptors! & yet he's a whiner. We should have kept Mcgrady! Atleast the T-Mac plays injuryed. I say let him go his heads gotten too big & always settles for the fade away jumper. I'll take Abdur-Rahim any day! If you ask me you guys are way too forgiving. Vince's better days are behind him. He's just like Stoudamire... SELL OUTS! T-Mac was right when he said that Vince could not lead a team. Bring on Abdur-Rahim!!! He knows what its like to play for a Canadian team!!

I used to LOVE Vince. But he has shown me that he doesn't love Toronto. So I would like to see him traded. But it's still early, and even though I think there will be a trade eventually I don't think any teams will make a huge deal for him at this time of year. The Raptors will be waiting and teams that are desperate for a trade will come calling. The Raptors aren't desperate yet despite they're wins vs. lossess. They are still close to first place in the Atlantic Division. With their win against the Spurs...who knows what the next few weeks will bring!

Trade that whining cry baby!!! Like some already said, he's got great talent and is a great player but his heart's already somewhere else. He's only playing to be "professional" about it. If he sits out, everyone will hate him and nobody will want him. Just watch him play, he show's up for about 10 mins and then he's not into it anymore. Everyone's pissed when things aren't going well and you see Vince there, just smiling and talking to the opponants.
I would pull that Abdur trade in a flash. Get him out of here!

Anyone hear about this? Vince Carter "I don't want to dunk anymore. (http://www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article.jsp?content=20041122_143038_5228)"
This is the same player who made his name in the NBA by winning the 2000 slam dunk contest. He became world famous for literally jumping over a seven-foot-two French player to get to the hoop at the Sydney Olympics a few months later.
And it was his dunking that led Shaquille O'Neal to dub him, "Half-Man, Half-Amazing."
look at this animated gif, it's insane!!! and now he doesn't want to dunk no more? :omg:

That dunk is ala Jordan. I say trade him, he obviously does not like or want to play in TO, trade him and get some body that wants to play for TO.......that may be difficult though :)

That is one SICK dunk!!! I swear, after hearing his comments about not wanting or having the need to dunk anymore just makes him so much more of a suck and immature player now. Dunks, pump up the crowd and more importantly pump up your teammates, its like a big bodycheck in hockey. Not only that, I would like to see him NOT dunk when he's actually traded. Carter's just making things worse for himself.

*sigh* Another Raptors loss tonight and against the Wizards too! Although it was an exciting game to watch live. I was disappointed that they let it slip away from them with only a few minutes left in the 4th.
Carter dunked again. And there were quite a few other Carter moves tonight that wowed those in attendance at the ACC. Jaydog I think you might be right...he might be showing off his skills for a potential trade. Sadly, I don't think his heart is in Toronto anymore. I hope we get a good player for Carter. And that the next basketball star we get has more heart than Carter.

Just thought that I would add some nice things about Carter. He does a lot of charity work in Toronto. And all that will stop when he leaves the Raptors. Earlier this week he donated money to build a new playground for a school in Malvern (that is a very run down area in Scarborough that is trying to fight off crime). He said that he wants to be remembered in Toronto as someone who really likes to help people.

Yes, I agree thats very nice and generous to do, but he still sucks, PERIOD. Donating to charities doesnt' make him a better player, just a better person. I would like to see him continuing to donate to EVEN if and when he's traded. Then thats genuine.
BTW, 5pts in yesterdays Miami game...pathetic!!...and the media gives him credit for stepping up his defense at the end of the game!! 5pts, enough said!

I wish the Raptors could just trade VC because he doesnt want to play for the raptors anymore. Salary Cap and contracts make this a difficult thing to happend especially with the Blazers or anyother team that has interest in VC.

JYD a fan favourite even up to now has continued his Charity work thru his brother, maybe if VC is ever traded he would do the same. I mean im sure those charities cant just up and leave.
