did you see artest punch the guy that was on the court in the detroit jersey? will he be successful suing since he's on the basketball court? going on the court seems like he's looking for trouble.

ahahahaha..........this really creates a problem for certain managers in fantasy pools....especially those with Artest or O'neal who have very lengthy suspensions.....good thing to hear is that none of these over-paid, whiney players are going to get paid during their suspension!....they'll definitely feel the crunch for this one!

Good luck to Artest, he can now focus on his record album...hope it flops! :nono:

Man..I finally got to see some of the brawl and I must say, that was probably one of the worst I've ever seen in professional sports. It was extremely ugly and at times, you almost think there might have been a full riot on the court. I was so surprised at how little security there was, while all the fights were going on, there were no police and only a few security personell trying to break up the fights. Now fans at that game are trying to file suits. Even the ones that weren't in the fight cause they know they can make a buck or two. I can only think, the one guy who got beat up in the stands can file suit. The fans who came onto the court and fought are not allowed to enter the playing area anyways so I don't think they have a case.

How come artest gets suspended for the season while stephen jackson gets 30 games? They both did the same thing. They both went into the stands and took out some fans. I thought jackson actually got some better shots in than artest.

I saw part of the brawl on TV replays and saw the rest of it on your links. Thanks Mok. I think that Pro sports brawls are getting way out of hand.
I can understand brawls in hockey because there is a fighting element to the sport. But I don't understand soccer or baseball or basketball fights...to me it seems like there is too much unhealthy aggression. Maybe fines and suspensions are not the way to handle this problem. These players make way too much money to care about a fine. Suspension for a few games or part of the season also doesn't seem to deter them and they welcome the break. hmm any ideas as to what will reduce the occurence of these fights? Maybe community work or jail time?

i think because artest went in first and also David Stern (NBA Commish) said he did consider Artest's past when determining the length of the suspension.

the police are still investigating the situation. So assault charges will be laid from what I heard, also, lawsuits are already being filed against the players.

imo, i think the suspension is too long and that detroit's fans should be some sort of punishment also, perhaps all the fans being locked out for couple of games or something.
