Hey guys,

So unheralded Wes Short wins his first Tour event one week after testing a funky new product from UST. There haven't been too many, come to think of it any, successful innovations to the putter shaft since steel took over from hickery.
well UST seems to have changed that. For about a month now a number of Tour and Champions Tour players have been testing this product. Posting a win on the Champions Tour in it's first week out.
From what I am told by our engineers, there is a specific frequency (vibration) that remains constant whether you hit a putt off the toe, heel or dead center. There are other vibrations that are unique to toe and heel hits. What this system accomplishes is to filter out the vibrations that are constant and allows the unique vibrations to pass through giving the player the feedback they require. Creating a better sensitivity for the golfer is what this system is all about.
There's a good pic at this site.

The new UST putter shaft, currently code named "Frequency Filtered" will be available at your favorite golf shop in early November.

Hmmm, interesting, however in all honesty November will be the month that I start checking out the latest shafts on new 24" wide Canadian Tire shovels as the new models should be hitting store shelves by then :D

Seriously though, this might be interesting stuff. Hopefully there will be a Scotty Cameron sitting around a shop with the shaft so I can compare prior to switching.

Thanks for the info.

Hi akrus,
Unfortunately, when UST and other golf manufactures consider making product introductions, the Canadian market is not the first priority. The good thing is you'll have the whole winter to consider what you need next as all the manufactures come out with their latest and greatest!!
Actually, the UST V2 was suppose to be a fall introduction, but when Adam Scott won in the late winter and there was a lot of hype, UST rushed it out early......just for the Canadian market!!
On the same note when we decided to introduce Accra, our hand was forced due to Tour success. The first week it was introduced to Tour players (The Byron Nelson Championship) we had 15 in play...pretty remarkable! So we began production immediatly.
I'm sure that you'll find a shop that will let you test one of these puppies!

I've already tried this shaft out in **someone's** putter :D

It looks cool, but won't be rushing out to re-shaft my putters with it just yet.

I have this shaft currently into a red x2 and it makes the putter feel that much better. It gives a more weighty feel to the head of the putter, but the butt end feels a little too light. I understand that UST may be coming out with a counter balance system for this shaft as well. I will have pic of this up tomorrow night hopefully as the putter is at work.

Guys in my group at copetown will have a chance to test out this shaft in my putter as it is in play. I have it cut to 33 inches and love it.

I'll be the first to go on record stating I had the pleasure of fondling Jeff's new shaft on Saturday before he got married and I too agree that the butt end feels a little too light.

Will Shawna complain????

:p :p :p
