Just heard this on the local FM Station. London Hunt Club will host the 2006 LPGA event. Great news for local golf fans:) I am looking forward to attending this tourament, or possibly volunteering.

Would be amazing if Michelle Wie, Annika, P Creamer, Morgan P make an appearance.

what 2006 LPGA event?:confused:
Only thing for sure is that the worlds #1 will NOT be there 'cuz she'll hosting the Scandinavian TPC being played @ her home course outside of Stockholm.

What is the date of the event. Do you have a URL?
Wow, just a 70 minute drive down Hwy 4 to the event.

I understand that CN has agreed to sponsor the Canadian Women's Open over the next 3-5 years. Perhaps this is the event Golfbum is referring to.

Bill Paul, the Royal Canadian Golf Association's director of professional tournaments, confirmed yesterday that the organization has found a sponsor to back an LPGA event next year.Members of the London Hunt and Country Club in London, Ont., voted overwhelmingly last week in favour of playing host to the tournament.

The event will be held Aug. 10 to 13,2006 the week after the Weetabix Women's British Open and the same week as the Scandinavian TPC hosted by Annika (Sorenstam) at her home club near Stockholm.



Canadian National Railway Co. will take over as the title sponsor of the Canadian Women's Open, the Royal Canadian Golf Association is expected to announce at a press conference in Montreal today. Stephen Ross, the RCGA's executive director, wouldn't confirm the title sponsor or the length of a contract. The 2006 event is scheduled for Aug. 10 to 13 at the London Hunt and Country Club in London, Ont.
