Mikey is having an OK year!
like i sez ... "#18 in PGA Career earning (#51 YTD for 2005), a 2nd place @ 2005 A&T Peeblebeach and T-5 @ The Masters in 2005 is not too shabby"

ok, our canadian hero missed the cut. but so did others like JD and Vijay.
Things are lookin' good for Mr.Country-Club-Privileged-Silver-Spoon-in-Mouth III who is sittin' in T-3 just 3 shots back.

Great for Carl Pettersen, who-cares for everybody else.
I found Tom Watsons' victory at the senior tournament yesterday most exciting. TW made some clutch putts for pars and birdies coming in; plus sinking that 20 footer at the 72nd hole to win reminded us what a champion he was and is.
Ford this year had Tiger and Lefty who charged forward, Chrysler had Carl, Chad and David (No) Love who backed down. I wonder how happy those Chrysler people could possibly be.

Tom Watson has a way of sneaking out of the pack and doing exactly what he did to Jay Hass yesterday!
I feel that Watson is still one of the purest ball strikers out there. He stripes his irons, heck guys on the PGA tour likely wish they could hit iron shots like Tom does. I bet he donates a good chunk, if not all of that $1 million he won to a charity.
As for the PGA, hey it was all good for Carl Pettersson. Sure Woods was not in the field, Vijay missed the cut and people will say Carl won a meaningless tournament. Well it was not a meaningless tournament for the guys trying to get in the TOP 30. Carl made two clutch shots coming in, the putt off the fringe on 16 and the chip shot out of the rough on the par 3 15th. Another Swede with a PGA win.
Tim "Lumpy" Herron went from 40th to 29th on the Money List, he snuck into the Tour Championship. I like Lumpy, he looks like me:D
Shigeki Maruyama boogied two of his last 4 holes and that cost him a spot in the Tour Championship :(
So all in all it was a good tournament, Carl is going to be driving around looking like a PIMP in that Chrysler 300!

!
:( very unfortunate .. i'm sure this was not goin' thru his mind at the time ... but now he'll have many weeks to ponder 'what if' ...
I'm lookin' forward to seein' Retief steal it again from Tigre. That 8 shot swing last year during the final round was excellent. He was on fire!!!
Stellar field for the Tour Championship though (even sans Wier this year):
