Do you think its possible to have been a working man till age 50 and still go out and be competitive on the Champion's Tour?
Or do you think you'd have to have been a PGA / European / Nationwide tour player to have any chance?
Hash this one out boys and girls.

i think anything is possible, the question is, how much do you really want it, how hard you are willing to work on it. and what you are willing to sacrefice for it.
rember there are 24 hours in a day, 7 hours sleep ( 7 days), 8 hours work ( 5 days) that leaves you 79 hours of free time per week, i'd be willing to bet, if you devote 40 hours a week to the game , for five years , you can't but succeed.
the question is, are you willing to sacrifice almost everything else to make it ?
this philosipy can be applied to anything
thats why i believe anything is possible.

Hi Grass Roots Tour
What handicap is your current game at? Apparently its harder to get a Champion's Tour card then it is to get a PGA Tour Card. Fewer spots available each year via Q-school.

.
Earning a Champions Tour card via Q-skool...
Possible? ... Yes!
Probable? ... No.
as for "being competitive" it depends on your definition of "competitive" ... ask this question once you've earned your card.;)

I know a guy who tried to get his Champion Tour Card. $5000 US entry fee. He never shot under 75 during the qualifying rounds. Not even close, and he is a scratch, or just below a scratch golfer.
The Champions Tour is the hardest tour to retain a card on too. Top 30 are exempt for the next year. Tough, but if you are in that Top 30 you are making good coin. Just ask Hale Irwin!

Great example of Championsihp tenacity fighting back form 6-shots down and scoring birdie of the final hole to win this weekend with a final-round 64!!!
SONOMA, Calif. -- Tom Watson erased a six-shot deficit on Sunday to come from behind and win the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. He birdied the 72nd hole to fire an 8-under 64 and win the tournament by a single stroke at 16-under-par 272.
"I didn't expect to be here doing this today," said Watson, who pocketed $440,000 for his third victory at this event. "It was a round that I'll always remember."

The win not only gave Watson eight Champions Tour wins, but it allowed him to win his second, year-long Charles Schwab Cup title. Since this event features triple points, Watson blew past Dana Quigley, who held first in that race for 17 weeks.
"When a guy shoots 64 in front of you, it's pretty tough," said Quigley, who did capture the Champions Tour money title. "All in all, it was a great year. I played my heart out all year, so I have nothing to be ashamed of."

I wouldn't even dream of suggesting I've got the potential. I just wanted to hear some opinions.

You'd need to have some unworldly talent to decide your ready to compete against the best in the world at age 50. Even if I won last week's 649 and commited myself 100% for the next 16 years - I wouldn't have a chance in hell. But it sure would be fun trying. :D

EXACTLY, I have mentioned this to several of my friends who are scratch golfers...why not pay the entry fee for a Canadian Open qualifier, just too see how good you are at handing the PRESSURE??!...who knows, you might LUCK-OUT, and have a SECOND career!?:)
