Hi all,
Looking for a used V-steel 3 wood, graph or steel shaft. Pretty well any condition, once I use it for a couple of rounds it won't matter anyway.
I've looked on E-bay and most of the stuff is from the states which can be a bit of a hassle. Wanted to see if any members were looking to lighten their bags with end of season looking us squarely in the face!
Thanks!
Anthony

Golftown will have bags full of them for around 30% to 40% off this coming weekend.

yeah, I think I'll check out the demo sale, but frankly, 120/140 bucks is still too much for my kind of golf - I'm just a weekend duffer and not good enough to have to pay for brand new - even if it is is a really good deal...
which brings up a good question: is a weekend hacker better served playing with less than perfect equipement or the best of the best? I tend to laugh when I'm out on the course and I see a guy with two grand worth of clubs in his bag playing lousier than me (which is pretty hard to imagine - I suck) - does spending more on clubs decrease the time it takes you to play better?

which brings up a good question: is a weekend hacker better served playing with less than perfect equipement or the best of the best? ?Very good question. The answer would depend on your goals and long term budget. If you plan on staying a weekend hacker, then buy something in your budget that feels good to you. If plan on getting better, then you may want to consider getting something of quality (for example a good set of cb game improvements, properly fitted, new or used, and some decent wedges) for your first trade up. Its cheaper to trade up once instead of making a few incremental jumps. Typically the cheaper stuff have a poor used value.

My advice is to take lessons and acheive a repeatable swing before you take the plunge to higher end equipment.Once you get your game to a level, that you can take advantage of the better equipment, then ask the pro that was giving you lessons for advice.A launch monitor session is also highly recommended, as buying $1000 (or what ever you want to spend) on new gear ,that is ill fitted to your swing is a waste of money, and can be a huge step backwards in your enjoyment of the game and your scores coming down.New clubs compared to good fundamentals are vastly overrated.Give the tour pros shovels and they could still break 70 in their sleep. The new equipment fitted for YOU can be very benificial and can help acheive the results you are looking for.Just my two cents worth.

That's exactly what I'm hoping to do - avoid back sliding by doing some lessons early this season and will do some early next as well, in the meantime, my budget (aka wife) keeps me from purchasing that new R5 three wood and looking for a used alternative.
Hence the search for a cheap V-steel, which I hit at GT the other day and loved!

Wives, they just don't understand the value of a good golf club!
SD, you may want to consider components as a way to go. I did and just love my new Snake Eyes.

If you're looking for an alternative to the V-Steel, try to find yourself a Taylor Made 200 Steel FW. It's the V-Steels older brother and just as good. You should find one for around $100.

I totally agree with the above. My stuff was stolen this summer and I replaced my TM 200 Steel with the V-Steel and it is not even close to being as consistent and does not have that beautiful metal sound. The 200 Steel is apparently still in some Pro bags.

Of all my clubs, hitting the 200 flush is the best feeling in the bag. The ball takes off on a nice trajectory and just keeps going. When my driver shows signs of acting up, the 200 takes over off the tee for the rest of the day.
I'll take 220 in the short grass than 250 in the rhubarb any day.

Cant get the 200 in stores but might be able to get a new one off ebay. there are tour models available also. These are some of the best fw's out there. I had one last season and it was nice.

That's a fair price for that club.
I was in Orlando last year and walked into one of the hundreds of liquidation golf stores. They had a tour bag full of new and used 200 FW's. The used ones were $50 and new were $75. They were ALL left handed. I giggled like a little school girl. I picked up a 3, 5 and 7 wood. I should've picked up 2 of each.
