That's right...Annika won for the FIFTH consecutive time at the Mizuno Classic over in Japan. This breaks BOTH the LPGA and PGA record for the most consecutive win at a single tournament. (albeit..its not a strong field with almost half of the players are on the JapanLPGA tour)

She shot 21 under (64-67-64) to beat Jennifer Rosales by 3 strokes. She was trailing the round leader by a shot after first and second round..but rallied with an 8 under final round the clinch her NINTH win of the year, and 65th of her career...

"Sorenstam, 95 under  in her last 15 rounds in the event, broke a tie with Laura Davies for the LPGA Tour record for consecutive victories in an event. Davies won the Standard Register Ping from 1994-97.

The PGA Tour record for consecutive victories in an event is four, a mark shared by Gene Sarazen, Walter Hagen and Tiger Woods." -TGC

"Sorenstam, who earned $150,000 to push her season total to $2,373,240, has nine LPGA Tour victories in 19 starts this year and also won a European tour event in Sweden."-TGC

that makes 10 wins in 20 tournament starts....Winning 50% of all the tournaments she entered....crazy!

and I almost thought she's really gonna fall into a major slump after the US Open....man...I hope she keeps going and break the record of 88 wins....she's only....23 wins short.......

<3<3 This made my day...after watching the Nucks got shutout by the Flames

She is the definitely the most dominant athlete for his/her sport. Too bad she ain't American, or she'd rake in more dough.

88 LPGA wins ... or is that just LPGA or does it include JLPGA, CLPGA, Silly-Season, DLGA, MLGPA, etc wins combined?

that's just LPGA wins...which Annika has 65...The Mizuno Classic is actually a LPGA event
as..there's more LPGA tour players than JLPGA players (43:35)..and i dunno what else qualifies it as an lpga event

The one win that she won this year that's not a LPGA event is that European Tour Event in her home course back in Sweden...the event was "hosted by Annika"..so basically she won her own event..lol

Simply amazing. Too bad she doesn't get publicity like she deserves. She probably likes it that way though.
