I'm done with the BB IV. Last night was advertised as an "all new" show, when in fact it was a "re-cap" show with some newer editing. As a golf nerd I feel betrayed. At least the Leafs were on, and they won. But as far as the Golf Channel is concerned, I am officially boycotting their shows.
Okay, rant over. Thanks.

I find the general production value of the golf channel's content to be quite poor. As someone who works in television, it's clear to me that many of the people who work at the golf channel got their jobs more for reasons of golf than television production. It's a shame really, cause I've always thought there would be tons of potential with a tv channel dedicated to golf. Yet I also find many if not all of the shows on TGC to be at best lacking, but often times total tripe!

Below is my rant in the ottawa version of this site. Said almost word for word what you said, plus I email'd golf channel and made same comments. I even missed some of the leaf game waiting for the 'all new' content to show.

You know, I loved the first one. I liked the tension of the girls at the end of last years big break.
But I have had it!!!
According to their own website at the golf channel, tonite is "all new".
Further they add "Intensity reaches an all time high!"
It is a rehash!!!
every friggin episode is replayed a gazillion times. If someone missed an episode they could watch it. On a tuesday in the afternoon, on a weekend at 3am. It will be reshown 25 times per week.
Earlier in a forum thread, several people were upset when with no announcement, a show was just a replay (about a month ago), then a few weeks ago with no notice, it is a rehash show, not new.
People were upset.
Now this. I try to root for certain players and buy into the tension of eliminations etc, but when this show, chugs, stalls, restarts, stalls again, I lose it.
Sad, not as good participants as some shows, but I coulda liked it, but no longer will watch as I just don't care anymore.

I for one emailed the golf channel to let them know just what I was feeling. We should all do the same and let them know that his tomfoolery will not be tolerated by the golfing world!

Don't forget to mention that the PGA Tour is coming up with their own channel.

Thanks SH for the link.
I don't know about this. I think I rather choke on a repeat instead of watching the movie my wife had on last night, "Only You". Other than Marisa Tomei in that dress on the boat, I'd take almost anything on the golf channel. I guess thats why I'm an addicted GOLF NUT!!!!   :D  :hush: :help:
OK, vented, they did go too far once again. But I'm still gonna watch! Even if it hurts!

My boycott lasted one week. No willpower whatsoever. Nothing else on the tube though.
Sorry to see Warren go. Felt he was a stronger player than Marty.
I will continue to boycott the re-runs....

Anyone check out the Natalie Gulbis show right after last night's BB episode?
Boy, I can not believe I would say this: watching her swimsuit shoot was excruciatingly painful.
The shoot seemed to have been done by amateurs....

I agree, though it sure is funny to watch Marty's near meltdowns every week.

I think giving the US players exemptions until the Euros get down to two is awful, if they all had to compete each of the remaining weeks I doubt that there would be one never mind two US players in the final four.

To be honest, I do not see any compelling reason to follow the rest of the series.
All the players are decent and nice (read no personalities), there's no controversy or anyone to cheer for or against, which makes for boring TV.
I look forward to the next BB in Hawaii with anticipation of lots of cat fights.

Big break has always been a one by one elimination. I don't believe they made this clear in the beginning (unless I missed it). Kinda get the feeling they are making them up as they go along.
Anyone see two episodes ago when the hosts were informed 'past play' would decide tommy two gloves fate. They had no clue. Production staff said "we need to get off st andrews, heres our rules". Hosts of show had no clue.
Imagine your a euro sitting at breakfast as a total of four players, while at the US table theres 2 lonely people, your reward is to 'force' the euros to lose two more.
You are not in the end necessarily getting the best players.

yeah, i agree. the "reward" for beating the US is to do your eliminations later? wtf kind of reward is that???

Yes, it did look good.

I always wondered how they would handle this, and I think it's a poor way to handle it too.
