Brian McCann from Mississauga, Ron Harvey from Sussex, NB, and Jim Rutledge from Victoria advanced to the final stage of Q-School.
Two other Canadians are Ian Leggatt from Cambridge and Bret Bingham from Red Deer who currently reside in the US.
Let's cheer on these fellow Canadians to make it to the big stage.

does anybody else think that Q school is probably just as stressful and frightning as any major? imagine needing a 4 foot putt to make or break your entire golf career...

I'm with you, I think the stress is sometimes more than a major.

Although, second stage is worse because everyone in the final stage has at least conditional status on the Nationwide Tour. If you don't make it to finals, you have almost nowhere to play.

Ian Leggatt lost his card i guess? Maybe i should learn hypnotism then get into sports psychology so i may brainwash pro golfers to just play instead of stressing out. I'm sure those guys get paid big $$. Kinda reminds me of Space Jam and the episode of Frasier, when the bball player rubbed Niles' head before every game.

I think Q school is way more stressful. Coming in 2nd at a major probably means you will be in the top 125 on the money list and guaranteed a card the following year. Not qualifying through Q school means you play on the Nationwide tour for a lot less prize and endorsement money. A big difference.

AND having a bad week means being out the entry fees, travel expenses, caddy fees, food and beverage expenses, hotel costs etc etc etc and poosibly having no big tour to play on. No endorsement contracts, nothing.
If you choke or slump during the 7 rounds of Qschool you are F#$ked AND broke.

in the 2003 Season, Leggatt's insurance policy paid him the same amount he won in 2002 (which is $1M and change). Then this year he is playing on medical extension, and he finally ran out of option.
having said that, collecting $1M rehabing at home and making appearances is not a bad thing at all.

I also had the pleasure of competing against McCann on the GLTOUR as him an a small small handful of players took home all the money every week.
