So i owe a bud a round for his bday and we have rcga half off coupons that are only good after 1pm on wknds so to lesson my cash output, i really wanted to use this.
so i call to see if the two of us can get off this sunday on wknd as close to 1 but not before, if possible.
Guy says they have 12:19 or 3 something. WHen i mention my coupons have to be used after 1 he puts me on hold and comes back and says there is no golf between 12:26 and 3 something....
..i ask " you mean all the spots are booked?"...he says no..."we use crossovers so there are no tee times for those 2.5+ hours"......?

? what the heck are crossovers? i would have understood if there were no times available due to bookings but he said as we are a twosome he does not allow times during that time period?
does that mean if i was a foursome i could play? is this due to mentioning the coupon?
i always hate that coupons tell you that you must tell the agent when booking about them...always gives you the feeling that if they know you are discounted and they will be busy otherwise with full payment guys...that you will get treated different....
.......based on this...i think my latter theory .....

No, no. They send guys off of both nines in the morning to provide more prime time tee openings.

BTW, I hate it too.

Well, if you are booked to start at #1, we all know how much we HATE when another group 'appears' at #10, this is why they created that window....

I hate it too, but it's a reality I'm used to playing in Myrtle Beach every year! :(

so they let guys off the back to fill more times? am i understanding that right? if i am comprehending doesnt that mean more not less times?
would it not mean a better chance we get a time rather than a 2.5+hr non booking period??
me thinks i must increase my java to a stronger blend...sharky sloooow this hol-i-day.....

It means more times early in the day, but they have to have a window of no times to get the people that are out there off the course...

thank you. i was still confused on this. i got a pm from barry the mgr and it makes sense now. if i was paying full pop and call up for a time in prime time which to me on a sunday would be 9-1, in their case roughly 1030-1215 then they have double the times available.
it only backfires due to my situation as i can only use a coupon that says after 1pm.
the reality is that times do not exist between 1 and 3pm (the next time they start taking bookings), so if the coupon had said on wknds after 3pm rather than 1 I would not have been confused.
Hey, they are one of only a small portion of the rcga offers that even still do deals, some run all season but most are spring or fall only, so it is nice they do it all season, just doesnt help me save in this case as with one hr drive from TO starting at 3 something is a bit too late for me.

thanks to all for your feedback and info. cheers.
