Most putts on 1 hole

What is the most number of putts you used on one hole? (you can say if you putt from the fringe ;) )

I have a buddy who a few years ago while playing in our Club Championship, was in the lead for the C Class, on day 2 and on the 14th hole. Great drive down the middle and on the green in regulation. Sounds too easy? Well after taking a 10 on the hole he did not win. No he didnt 8 putt the green. One of the putts actually went off the green so he had a chip in the middle for a 7 putt.:rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

hmmm...I think it was last winter golfing in Santee, SC...I forgot the name of the course but I think on that day somebody pissed off the greenskeeper cause he put all the pin locations on the slope or close to the slope on almost every hole!! I must have 4 putted, 2-3 times in that round and every green had some massive undulations, some so crazy that you couldn't see the hole but you were only putting from 20 ft. Some major rollercoaster putts!

for me its probably 4 or 5 putts....and its on one of those sloping greens....argg...
also..by the time i get to the 4th putt...its frustration putt...where u don't even bother to line it up, and attempt to push the ball into the hole

5 putts.... totally unfair pin! Regulation on, hit a good putt that just inched past the hole...then look out. Ball kept rolling all the way down the hill and off the green. Putt back up the hill back to the top of that shelf again. Next putt, hit another good putt that just inches past the hole....alas the ball does not stop again and rolls off the green. Putt it back up the hill again and face the same 10 ft downhiller. Putt it again and groan because I knew I hit it too hard...luckily this one drops right in the middle for a triple.

Years ago I was in the last group of the second round of an "A" class event at the Whiteface Inn course in Lake Placid. On the first hole I left a 30' putt 4' short, then drilled it 4' past, then 4' past, then 4' past, then 12" past, backhanded it and missed by 12", backhanded the next and missed by 12", missed again and tapped it in for a 10, 8 PUTTS.

When asked later how I made a 10, I said, "I made a 12" putt.":)

Out of the tournament at this point, my immediate goal was to stay cool and break 80. Birdied the next difficult par 4, and played those remaining 16 holes in 2 over and shot 81.

yikes..yea i missed a lot of "lazy" putts too...like putting backhanded/using the wrong edge of the putter because the ball is so close to the hole...
i missed a lot of frustration putts too....
if i made all those putts..i think my score can improve greatly....because the frustration of missing short stupid putts carried over to the next hole....which ususally ends up pretty bad too :(

5 putt so far for me is the worse.....looking for a more worse putting hole in the future......:D
