Hi Everyone

"Aangename kennis" means "Nice to meet you" in my South African home language, Afrikaans.

I was really surprised that I could become a Toronto Golf Nut member without having to take a tough test in the Canadian North to proof that I am in fact a golf nut! Thank God. That is why I added a Golf Nut rating/voting system to see what kind of golf nuts we have here.

When you have reached a major achievement in some African countries the government will present you with the Order of the Grand Leopard: Class I, II, III IV etc. So lets use a sililar system - Golf Nut: Class I, II, III, IV & V.

Class V: More nuts about golf than the average person. You play more than 10 times a year, but not every week.

Class IV: You play every week.

Class III: You play every week with one or more regular buddies, and practice at a range once a month even through the winter. You also watch at least Golf Central on the Golf Channel every week.

Class II: Play more than once and practice 1 hour weekly. You make a point of breaking away for golf every winter. You watch the PGA event every week and most of the other programs on the Golf Channel.

Class I: All of the above, plus you play golf during December and March during warm spells; have played a full round in the snow when the course was closed; you have travelled more than 400 km to play a specific course on a weekend; you keep your wedge and putter in the house between rounds to chip balls.

I am looking forward to hear your comments on how to improve this Golf Nut rating.

Thank you.

Now you have something to aspire towards - maybe you could be a few Golf Nut classes up by the end of the winter!

Have fun

Welcome to TGN. I consider myself a Class III, but I have some characteristics of a Class I golfer too. ie, practise putting and chipping on my carpet while watching TV.

Keep your heads down...Had to pick Class II as I have never played in a snow storm After that i have completed all on Class I. I also have a green carpet and 12 foot high ceilings so I can swing up to a 5 iron inside and never touch the tiles.

Hi Mule

Thank you for the reply. Sounds like we have a lot in common. I am sure someone who have done even wilder golf stuff will come up with a Class Zero soon!

Wow, we are among some serious nuts here...

I rarely watch golf on TV, and while I have played 18 holes when the course was closed and have played when it was snowing - it was not at the same time.

Otherwise, I would be Class I.

You're right. I am a plaas japie! I have not been following the rugby that closely this year. Last time I watched the boys were still doing OK - Trinations.
