Hello to everyone out there, and happy holidays. Just think as of today the days are getting longer again, and soon we will be out on the links. I have enjoyed reading the comments made in this site and decided to join. I am a veteran player and have been off and on since I was 8 years old, but have been a serious player for the last 15 years; I am 40 years old. I play off a 4 handicap and am a participating member of the GOA. I am trying to get as much competitive playing experience as I can and hopefully paticipate in some Great Lake money events in the future. Playing competitive golf is nerve racking but is also a huge adrenelaine rush.
As my name suggests I am a big Ben Hogan supporter as my first set of clubs were my fathers hand me down Hogan's. I have just finished reading the Ben Hogan biography, and what a life Mr. Hogan lead. It's a long book but very well written and worth the time if you are interested. Currently I play Hogan Apex Plus irons 2-p/w and 5208 & 6004 wedges (Apex 5 steel shaft) with a Hogan CS3 driver (Graffoloy blue X) and accompanying Big Ben 3 wood with the same shaft.
I am a public player and like to play different courses all around GTA. I do have a few that I frequent more often and they include Don Valley (great location and a decdent course for what it is) and Westview in Aurora. I also like Lakeridge, Royal Ahsburn, Glen Eage and sometimes I get to play Scarboro as my dad is a social member there. I am always looking for a game (with some wagering on the side) so let me know. Happy holidays:)
