View Full Version : PGA changes Ryder Cup Qualifying

Well its about time. After losing so badly this year the US PGA has changed the criteria and point system for Ryder Cup qualifying. Read about it here:

I think this is much better than before. Now it emphasizes on winning and you get more points for a Major and finishing top 10. This ensures players are on top of their game entering the Ryder Cup. Should make for a more competitive tournament next year IMO. But I still always like to see the Europeans win over the Americans.

The Americans had no choice but to change the Ryder Cup qualification points after losing two straight tournaments and getting beaten so badly in the last one.....good to see, and I hope it will make for a more competitive match in the future...

This should be good as the Ryder Cup players will be more up-to-date winners.

I think I ask a lot of these basic questions, so please bare with me!!

Is the Ryder Cup only every other year? I'm asking because I noticed the article kept referring to 'a Ryder Cup year'... meaning there are years without this event?
