With the start of the PGA and soon LPGA season, who do you think will have a breakout year amongst the men and ladies?
Will Mike Weir win get out of his funk or fall through the rankings?
Jason Gore be contending in Majors?
David Duval reincarnation?
Michelle, Morgan or Paula?
or is it the Tiger and Annika show once more?
Your thoughts please......
Few more months boys and girls!!! Golf again!! (for some it's already started)..:D

I'm hoping Els will make a comback after last year's injury.

Weir wins again. So does Daly and Love. Els moves into 2nd of the big 5.
And the cat, well, he knocks up his wife and goes AWOL:rofl:

I predict that Michelle Wie will win at least 3 times on the LPGA tour, while Morgan Pressel will finish 2nd at all three and self-destruct. Well, just kidding on the self-destruct part, but it will be fun to watch anyway. Annika will dominate once again followed closely by Paula Creamer.
Wins:
Annika 7 or more
Paula 4
Michelle 3
Morgan 0
Tiger may win the slam this year, but my heart wants the Big Easy to win the Masters.
As always, I hope Mike Weir can win some as well, and that David Duval shows some old form.

Mike Weir....I think he is done. I am a big supporter of Weir but he has the type of game he needs to practice a lot to be good, and he has expressed in interviews his intentions are family first. Maybe when his kids get older he'll rededicate himself, but in my opinion Mike Weir will not be a factor in 2006. I also think the big guys like Phil and Ernie will not be dominating. I just don't get Mikleson, he starts winning and then changes equipment for no apparent reason other than $.
On the PGA side I think this is the year for the kids. I like Sean O'Hair, real gritty young kid, and the big guy (I can't remember his name). I would also like to say this could be a breakthrough year for Sergio, but he hasn't won my confidence in the majors. As a Canadian I am hoping for John Mills, a recent grad from the Nationwide tour and the son of the director of the GAO. No matter what his game is at you can never coutn out Tiger. He's like Jack in the 60's & 70's you can't count him out no matter how he's playing.
LPGA - I still think Annika is the one beat. SHe has said she wants a baby so until she does that I think she will remain very focused in 2006. I also think the kids will flourish like Gulbis, Creamer, and the new arrival Pressel. I am not sure yet what to say about Wie. I think she needs more time, but will learn very quickly.

For the most part I agree with HOGANUT. However I dont see Sergio doing anything as he still hasnt worked out that laid-off position at the top of his backswing. THAT will prevent him from being consistant enough to contend, esp in the majors.
Adam Scott, who has tremendous potential and could even one day contend with Tiger, is my pick to have a breakout year.
Sean O'Hair has a swing very similar to Adam Scott and he will show us something special in '06 as well.
The ladies, you guys already have it right.

I think it's about time Sergio lived up to his reputation in those naughty commercials. hehehe jk. I'd like to see him win a major. He has a few kinks to work out though.

I think Tiger's swing changes will show their true mettle this year. I think he's in for a monster season that will rival anything he's done in the past.
On the women's side, Paula Creamer will steal some of Annika's thunder in 2006. I'm really looking forward to watching some of the ladies events where Creamer, Pressel, Wie and Annika are playing.

Maybe its more hope, but I would like to see Jason Gore win a few and contend in some others.
