No Ernie?
No Mickelsen?
No cat?
No Harrington?
No Goosen?

Gotta luv their enthusiasm for their tour. Wait till the new TV contract comes up for grabs and no one wants it:nono:

CBS hads already said they are not even bidding on this. Watch for Mercedes and Sony to pull out:eek:

Hopefully those there will put on a show like they did this weekend. Great golf at the Plantation course in very strong winds and on new greens made it enjoyable to watch. Great tournament:cool:

I really feel that the season is too long, and that the "off-season" or "silly-season" makes it even longer. It's hard to get excited about 2006 when it seems as though there was no break at all. Reminds me of pro tennis, in a way. Their year used to start at the Australian Open and end pretty much at the U.S. Open. Players could then rest, recuperate, etc., and come back three months later ready to compete. Fans were ready too after a break. Can anyone tell me now just when the tennis seasons starts and stops? Pro golf is now there as well. Enough with the Battle of the Bridges made-for-tv crap; enough of the "exhibitions" that fit between football games, or on U.S. Thanksgiving. The sport has been watered down by all this extaneous b.s. The networks are catering to a demographic that is only interested in the celebrity of certain "events". True golf fans (mostly us here on TGN) who would watch live golf regardless of the field, or hype, are taken for granted. I seldom watch tennis anymore as the events seem to be essentially meaningless. Players drop in and out of tournaments like flies, and it is hard for a director to get anybody ranked to show up. The money is too good. Medicore players are millionaires. Same with golf. Why should they care?
Why should we?

I now return you to our regularly scheduled rants.

I agree that the Tour season is too long. When players don't want to enter because they want to rest or spend more time with their families that itself should be "redflags" to the Tour that the interest level from the players not even the fans is low. I do however like the new point system the Tour is thinking of implementing for the end of the season. I think that will atleast keep some players and fans interested after the PGA Champ in Sept.
