Just some random things I noticed this week

1. Phil got fat but his short game is incredible. From 100 and in he was deadly.

2. Vijay thinks his driver is a fairway wood.

3. Tiger can beat the pants off everyone even with the stomach flu.

1) Are fat guys better with short irons? The belly slows the body movement?
- maybe hope for me?

2) I think every driver shot was off the deck last week.

3) Maybe he should switch to left handed for every other tourny to have some fun.

One thing I noticed while watching last weeks tourney and comparing what I saw to the Grand Slam....

Vijay seems to be teeing his ball lower with the new High Bore driver.

I'm sure the funky crown has something to do with that.

I'm sure the funky crown has something to do with that.Probably because all the weight is at the bottom so if you hit it high it probably doesn't have the same ooomph. That's what I would suspect. Being so bottom weighted, it's probably perfect for off the deck.

After watching 2 rounds I couldn't get a good look at it.

LAX, that's what I was thinking. Or he seriously doesn't want it left at all cost.

I'm sure his driver is still cranked open 5 or 6 degrees to prevent the left side. He was absolutely bombing that thing and was preetty straight with it too. It's hard to find any information about the technology behind the new driver. I did a quick search on BSG and found this...

***My rep told me the Hi Bore will be the only driver on the market where the COG aligns perfectly with the center of the face. Now you can ahieve increased gear effect in the same area as the sweet spot. No need to necessarily hit it higher on the face as with previous drivers. Thats why its so long, you get the benefit of gear effect where the ball speed is the highest. Based on design and physics, no other driver on the market achieves that in their design.***

Take that for what it's worth. I've been thinking about getting a Comp, but will hold out to try the Hi Bore. To me the thought of being able to tee the ball lower is enticing. Theoretically it gives me a little bit more room on miss hits.
