Can this guy crank the ball or what. His shoulder turn and extension is enormous. 336.30 yrd average with a boomer of 398.

Now before you jump all over me about fairways that were as wide as they were long, I'm just commenting that he will be fun to watch. Hopefully we won't have as many shots of Tiger picking his nose, passing gas...

Couldn't agree more - It would be nice to see more guys hitting the ball than having Tiger staring down the fairway waiting for the group in front to clear on camera all the time!

Bubba was crushing the ball!!!!! - Did you see Vijay turn around while he was on the greens looking at where Bubba had hit it!

The man has "tour followers" written all over him with drives like that!

And he's a lefty! It was great to watch him in a replay of the Aussie Masters on TGC, and then at the Sony this weekend.

I agree - great fun to watch... but how long before the powers-that-be decide that they need 8000 yards for majors events? Gorillas need only apply - shotmakers stay at home!

And he supposedly hit is pretty straight and never have a swing coach.

If I am Ping's Marketing people, I would market him to death.

I might be wrong, but I thought I caught a glimpse of a Cleveland Comp driver in his bag camoflaged by a Ping headcover and grips.

There was an article in GD about him a couple months ago. Nice to have somebody new to "entertain" the crowd like John Daly. Will be nice to see him drive a few greens here and there. If he can put up a couple of wins here and there even better!

He could probably hit the medicus driver 300 ydrs assuming it didn't inadvertently turn into a octahinged system.
:)

It figures: 300++ yards drives and a hottie wife to boot:

You could be right but I'm sure I saw Ping on Post Game last night on Golf Channel.

The tourney was very boring.

Thought that it would at least be close, but no.
Watching david toms (who in interviews is very pleasant) is like watching paint dry, very good golfer, but no razzamataz!

Only when bubba slowly built up steam did I stop flipping channels to football and stick it out to watch him finish.
He is so laid back, and so very powerful, that I actually enjoyed watching golf for a change.
A real breath of fresh air.
He has got one convert on his team.

THe only thing I may have to look up is his success on nationwide. I watched quite a few events, even heard his name alot, but I am suprised he didn't win almost every week.

To have such control combined with your length, and still have the necessary touch for the often 75 yards in he will have alot, is amazing.

Tiger
Big Easy
Lumpy
Black Knight
Bubba.......it sounds blue collar but just right!

Cheers, Shark:$

Bubba Watson is the longest hitter on the tour, I mean he is longer than daly, longer than Hank and yes he is longer than Tiger. But it is a timing move, if his timing is good he goes low, if not he gets a lil kenny perry syndrome so to speak.

I had the opportunity to speak with him last year and what a pleasant guy, he is very grounded and doesnt think he is the next big thing.
