Wow Pat Perez lit it up today, -12. He needed a birdie on his 18th hole for a 59 but came up just short of the green and made par. Great round at Arnold Palmer Private Course.
Chad Campbell continued his hot play with a -9 63 at Bermuda Dunes.
Lefty Phil shook off the rust from a two month layoff with a round of 6 under and he looks a little thinner than he did last year.
Weirsy shoots a 67 at BD.
David Duval finished -3. Could this be the year he comes back?
Gotta love watching this tournament, some of the amateurs hack it up and some are flat our good players. 5 rounds makes this event a shoot out, as the course are not exactly the toughest tests of golf.

Yep they each play all four courses over four days. That's why a wednesday start. :)
Cut is AFTER saturday's round where they take the top 70 and ties and play PGA West on sunday.

I am very disappointed at the coverage on perez. On the golf channel page they had absolutely no mention of him, but two stores on phil and whole lot of coverage for the new john daly shoe.
On golf channel itself tonite, after 20 minutes on phil and his first tourney, then brandel chamblee on what it will take for phil to improve.
This was followed by interviews with the celebrities. Not one mention of the score he shot, or almost breaking 60, didnt here perez's name even once. After 20 minutes gave up.
Guess he doesnt fit their blue blood.
Good on you perez, keep it up!
Cheers, Shark:$

There is an article on Perez there this morning. Maybe they updated the site after you looked at it, I checked it at 7:20AM. I notice sometimes the webmaster is not the fastest gun in the west:D

Problem is, Perez is such a hot-head and has the worst habit of shooting his mouth off at the wrong time. I love his style of play, always aggressive and never gives up, but am not a fan of how he handles himself on the golf course with respect to his attitude. He's just one of those golfers that the less you hear of him, the better.

I don't know anything about him other than seeing his picture.
Even a byline on his attitude would have been welcome.
Regardless of a good rep or poor one, the leader of a tourney should get some attention, and secondly, a someone flirting with 59 should get attention. 10 minutes on phil, who also has a rep as a pain in the _ _ _, is not necessary.

Isnt PP the same guy who was approaching the lead this past summer but the producers wouldnt show his play cause every time he missed a putt he gave the hole the finger?  I love him already.

Hank Kuehne is -5 thru 7 holes today and he needs to go really low to make the cut. Other than that Lefty Phil -2 and there ain't a lot of birdies happening out there right now.
By the way, was anyone else tired of hearing about Pat Perez and his temper in the past? On and on and on Baker-Finch went about Parez's past history of blowing up on the course. Back to the 2002 Pebble Beach Pro Am etc etc. My wife who watches golf with me once in awhile commented on it. I finally got so sick and tired of it I emailed ABC Sports about it.
Anyone who knows golf and has seen Perez in the past knew what happened. Why keep bringing it up? If Baker-Finch doesn't have anything else to talk about then he might as well shut up.
On the lighter side, having Faldo out on the 17th tee was hilarious
Mikey is doing ok, sitting T6 7 strokes back. Verplank is breathing hard down Campbells neck, we shall see once again what Chad can do with a lead going into the final round.
Hey how about The Rocket? Aces his 2nd hole of the day to help his Pro Am team get to -64 for the win!:D

http://forum.ottawagolf.com/images/smilies/canada.gifMike Weir. T6 going into the final round. A solid top-10 finish is within reach. This could be the start o' season spark he needs on the way to becoming the Comeback Player of 2006*. I hope he turns it around.
Go Mike!
(*9 cuts missed in 2005 and in a couple weeks it'll be 2 years since his last win.:( . I'm sure Sears Canada is not impressed).

Well if Double D keeps up his current form he should be in the running for it as well! After a 6 over round on Thursday he comes back with a 69 and 64 (par 72) to sit at -8.
Good to see play like we kno he can!

(*9 cuts missed in 2005 and in a couple weeks it'll be 2 years since his last win.:( . I'm sure Sears Canada is not impressed). From what I read in a magazine, there were about 2 million in sales, so maybe his performance isn't as important for clothing success.
Besides he's got all kinds of stuff going on. Check this out:
