Hello everyone I'm new to this site my name is Brad Lawrence and I thought I would introduce myself a little bit.
I am in my first year of Proffesional Golf Management at Humber College, my friend Scotty refered me to this site, and another pal Jeremy showed me it in class one time. I thought I have to check out this site because on the other sites there isn't too many guys from toronto to talk to.
I have been surfing around for the last little bit and I really like what I see. I can't wait to start posting more and getting to know everyone.

Hi Brad
Welcome aboard, and you did come to the right place I might add.
Tell us a little bit about your game and why you chose Golf Mgt. at Humber?

Hey Brad, welcome to the forum! I'd be interested to hear more about your program at Humber. What are the pre-requisites and how long is the program for? Is there a co-op component?

Hey EMS,
The program at humber is great, it was the first school in canada to offer PGM and it's probably the best in Canada too.
I've just started second semester so I can't comment too much on it but first Semester was great! The course itself is not just about golf but about business and business management courses. First semester theres is two golf related classes Careers in golf and Golf Operations. They are both good classes. Careers in golf leaders of the industry come in and talk to the class about their career and how they got to were they are now. Golf operations is basically how to run a golf course and different services at a golf course.
As for pre-requisists I belive it's just for school course Grade 12 english and math at the college level. You do need 3 letters of reference and a golf related resume also. Two of the leaders have to be by a golf related person and one none golf related.
The course itself is 3 years long and there is a mandatory summer co-op for the first two summer. Basically it's full time work in the summer but you get credits for it as well as pay!
Anymore questions feel free to ask away, I hope I answered everything you asked.

Hi Brad: I was a back shop manager when I was student. There was no golf programs when I was in college (dating myself). Actually they had just started offereing them. Nice course you get to work at and I assume play once in a while. Are you planning to go into the CPGA program. By the way an assistant pro told me once what CPGA means, which is CAN'T PLAY GOLF ANYMORE, I guess that is because of the hours they work. Take care.
