I might pop in for the 2hr special Saturday night. Right now I'm not sure what time yet but most likely 7-7:30 onwards. Is anyone here a regular there at that time?

Should be quiet there Saturday as everyone will be watching the game (ha ha). Anyway I may pop over there Sunday. Did they fix the target on the left side of the dome yet?

I prefer hitting from the lower level but I've been going to the upper level the last couple Saturdays. The last couple Saturdays have been pretty quiet on the upper level. The upkeep at the Dome has been pretty sparse if you asked me. The target on the left is still hanging by a thread... literally. No middle target either. At least the added new range balls.

Chances are pretty good I'll be there on the upper level. I'll be the asian guy with the Kapalua pineapple headcover in the bag. LOL

THe good thing about the target is it helps you focus on a small target!! Imagine how accurate you'll be when you're hitting to fairway that will be 30-50 yards wide. I agree with you the dome has fallen off in the past few years. I think personally people aren't going there like they used to. Yes it is still busy at times, but for $40/hr it's pricey, which may be why they are offering the 2 hour special. The 2 hour special is a pretty good deal. I'll pay $15/hr to hit balls there, and the quality of the balls are decent enough.

Hey Carlton I think I've seen you there before!! If I see you there I'll be sure to say hi.

Well I think the Dome got bought over by The Launch owners earlier last summer. At the start they cleaned it up and upgraded some mats and targets but it's fallen a bit behind.

I think everyone who got golf toys for Christmas got their fix already and only the die hards keep at it.

I usually try and get a middle mat and practice shot making.

Three members of my family (one sis and 2 bro-in-laws) are all lefties so there's always a struggle to get 2 lefty mats on the lower level. Usually not much of a problem on the upper.

If anyone happens to be there, feel free to drop by and say Hi. I'll do likewise.

I thought it was the other way around if i'm not mistaken. What ever happened to the middle ground target with the lights? Did it break....again?!? BTW: I wanna be the first to knock down the yellow target thats hanging off the thread. Everytime I go, that's my target. I can hit it, but I think the weak spot is the connection point. Who wants to take the Markham dome challenge and knock it down?

lol...i'm a regular there...i went on tuesday and the left side target was still hanging by a thread...no more middle target (with the flashing lights)...but..it does seem unusually crowded nowadays for some reason...when i first got my membership (in Octoberish)..i never had to wait for a mat...but now...sometimes the backlog is about 4-8 people...but i have to admit, the turnover is really quick there. new balls..they got rid of all the white balls..

plus one funny story, i was playing on the #2 or #3 mat, and I got hit by a ball in the thigh, scared the crap out of me....

Thats' my goal...take down the target. Last time i hit it twice but no luck. If anyone does make sure post a new thread so everyone knows.

I think you are correct. To confirm check the eaglequest web site, but pretty sure Launch bought it.

that's funny!?! a couple inches higher, you could try out for the LPGA :D. By the way, I'm thinking that in the next couple weeks the dome will get more open, this is due to the fact that many ppl are going back to HK for Chinese New Year. I'll still be here though, trying to hit that target down.

LOL, yeah the mats on the far left seems to be the target zone for the guys on the far right hitting hosel rockets. I've had a few surprises playing on those mats in the past. I've even had shots hit the bar of the target flags and bounce right back towards the mats! Now, THAT's a scary sight!

On the lower level, I used to try hitting stingers with my 2iron at the lights... not a smart thing I guess seeing that if it's broken, it's probably some idiot like myself who did it. LOL.

Anywho, 7pm and just got home from working on a basement reno... guess I'll see whoever shows up at the Dome. I'll be there at 8:30pm.

Gligster: It's at the end of Burncrest Road just south of the 407 & Woodbine Ave. That'll be a long ride for you coming from the west. Two hrs specials starts at 7pm and runs until 11pm, unlimited balls. Nailer's posted the URL for you.

I'm pretty sure it has been bought by Launch because the commercial for it includes both Launch and the dome. Was there on Sunday last week. $5 more on the weekends for the special, so will be going during the week. I drive right by it from work, so may be going around 5 p.m. weekdays.

If any early risers are hanging out at the Markham golf dome tomorrow I will be there bright and early at 8am! Look for the Marvin the Martian golf bag! that's me!

Well last spring/early summer, I noticed seeing the new manager which led me to think it was Launch who did the takeover.

I think I'll be doing reno work in the morning (not sure 'cause I'm still sore from playing in a ball hockey game yesterday, I'm feeling my age! ACK!) but most likely I'll be there Saturday night. Everyone's welcome to come on over and put a face to one's name/handle. I'm the one with the pineapple headcover most likely on the upper level as it's much quieter.

Sweet.....too bad I couldn't hit outdoors to see how I was hitting it. I love callaway!

Glad the 454 seems to be working out. I know what you mean about hitting it outdoors. In the dome most decemt looking shots seems nice and straight but that doesn't say much in a dome that's only 70yrds deep.

Just as anticipated, the dome was pretty empty tonight! Seeing that 80% of the people who go there are Asian, I wasn't surprised to find it empty as it's the Chinese New Year.

I am heading to the Launch Saturday A.M. for the $18.50/hr weekend special that runs from 7.00am -9.00am.

Anyone else thinking of going? We could say hi. I like the Launch a lot more than the Markham Dome as you can see the WHOLE flight of your ball.

Cheers,
