Has anyone checked them out since they moved from their former Sportsworld location to Waterloo? I'm just wondering if they've upgraded from the old busted-*** simulators they used to have.
I snagged some discount coupons out of a flyer, and thought it might be worth a trip?:dunno:

Actually the stuff they had at Sportsworld location was 1970 technology and a total waste of time. It was a picture of a golf hole projected on the screen. The ball didnt hit any trees, bounce sideways off sidehills, nothing. It just advances till the proper distance is achieved. I went once, shot 62, laughed and left.
If they havent updated to real sims, dont bother.

Those old sims were pretty rotten, which is why I was wondering if they had upgraded?

Ummm, OB 5 feet off the fairway when 50 yards off the fairway on the same hole is in bounds somehow.
Chipping is a joke. Its impossible to back spin a chip in REAL golf yet I had a ton of em back off the green.
Yardage on the range seemed accurate, then on the course it was 20 yards shorter.
Drops ............... dont get me started on drops.
Id much rather bare -5 temps and play outside. At least I know its accurate and real. :D and sometimes .................. free.

the OB problem was most likely a one time problem (I hope).
chipping does take some practise to get right on most sims
yardage could have been effected by the way the sim was set up ie wind and course elevation
Drops??? just keep it in the fairway:D:D
And last but not least these are simulators not actualls. While the launch monitors in most sims are very accurate the game software will never be 100% accurate.
If you are free on Feb 9th and would like to put a simulator through it's paces let me know
