I just hope the show is enjoyable. I started off liking the last big break in scotland, then slowly didn't care. After all the 'new' episodes that turned out just to be recap shows etc.

Dragged it out until alot of people lost interest. Eye candy is not enough to keep my interest (especially when there is not much of that).

I thought it was quite good. Nice twist on the 1st show. Looks like they've got better players this time. Hopefully this time the winner will make the cut on the actual LPGA event. Geez...lots of rewards for this show eh? A car, endorsements, $10K, not bad at all. Lots of cuties on this show too. Hopefully Nikki (is that the one who won over Jo D) will be gone next show because she isn't that good (even though she thinks she is) and what's with the language? Bleeping out her swearing on almost every shot. Anyway looks pretty good so far. Personally I had a hard time getting into the European one, personally I don't think a team format is good in an elimination show, my opinion. Supposedly the next one is a senior big break and myself being 40 it will be interesting to see what type of game the senior contestants have.

Agree.....funny that the ones with the weaker games have the biggest attitudes. I guess when you spend the $ for the surgery you want to show off your investment!

Agree, I think the best players we didn't see a lot of last night. Becky looks strong and that girl that Stephanie knew as well. With all the mini-tours around these days you think you'd get some players that didn't freeze up so much. Until one of the winners makes a cut on the applicable tour this show will not be taken seriously. Having said that it is fun to watch.

No way, still can't agree with you....the girl's swing looks like she's riding a horse and can't putt if her life depended on it. As for pressure packed shots, she hit one good drive and put it out there nicely, then proceeded to pull her second shot from the middle of the fairway 150' from the green. Nice up and down, but she does not have nearly the same game as the other girls.

She'll be knocked out by the 5th show, if not earlier.

As the title equipment sponsor I think all of the contestants were given the opportunity to put Bridgestone clubs in their bags. The Golf Channel website shows WITB for all of them, but I only checked Nikki's.

Now if you were already playing competitive golf and got your "break", why would you switch equipment?

FWIW, Nikki is the only one that's never competed on a mini tour. Her F Bombs were awesome. I can't wait to see her meltdown next week! Definitely the most likely BB contestant to pose topless.

Ya sure who hasn't used a little profanity on the course. However, i would do my best to curb the language on the camera. Also if it only happened once or twice then so be it. But I mean she was even getting bleeped out when they were showing the trailers of them in their cabins.

Excelent point made in the 2nd paragraph. Generally you see a learning curve when players switch equipment. Phil Mickleson is the first to come to mind. He wins the Masters and changes to callaway and does nothing the rest of the year. Now he's used to Callaway sticks and has been winning, most notably PGA last years. I guess if you're a struggling tour player and the $ is flashed in your face it would be hard to say no.:confused:

Last nights show was pretty good. Nice chip ins (ya I know they were lucky but you gotta be lucky to be good) and nice to see winning from birdies and not pars and bogeys. I just can't stand Nikki though, and it would seem the girls on the show share the same opinion. I believe Nikki will the next to go as her game is not what the rest of the field is. At least with Jo D she tried and admitted it wasn't her cup of tea and said she would be happy going home and teaching. If you can't embrase your nerves and channel it into something positive your toast, and that is for any competition not just Big Break. Anyway another enjyable show yesterday and next week should be really good!

I prefer what they did with the second episode to dragging it out with a couple of episodes being mostly clips from the previous couple like BB IV.

I actually liked seeing the women pick opponents (cat fights in the waiting), and it was nice to see them actually play real golf instead of some skills challenge that only shows one part of your game.

My beef with the TBB series... COMMERCIALS... COMMERCIALS... COMMERCIALS!! Every 5mins there's a freak'n commercial and what's worse is that they TELL you what's going to happen next. What no surprises and suspense? Nooooo.... that would make bad tv!! Thank god for PVRs!!! Hmmm, well if you play the commercials like the Bob Newhart game (youngsters won't know about this I guess) I think you'd be smashed within the first 15mins. This weeks episode was very painful to watch. I caught myself cheering everytime Nikki missed a putt or shot. I just wanted her to be gone. If I saw her rub her shoulder again I was going to throw something at the TV.

And then she started with the nobody likes me stuff and then she says "I came into this world alone and i'm going to leave alone"!!! WTF I was ready to hurl.

How did she ever get on this show? She must have been doing some "favours" for Cellini.;) Are you telling me that out of the probably thousands of applications that they received to appear on this show she was one of the eleven best.

Becky is a good player (as you'd expect being 2002 Am champ), but she has definitely overcome a major handicap...that swing of hers is damn ugly.

I hear you on this. She strikes me as one who is more interested in using the mental game to throw off her opponents that concentrating on her own game. either way ... I'm VERY surprised with everyone's that left ... except Jeanne.

Kim is erratic at best - although her short game seems to be sound.
Julie ... wow ... goes to show being short (distance wise) isn't a hinderance afterall.
Ashley ... she's alright ... but I didn't think she was going to out last Dana or Kristina.

From the beginning, I thought it was going to be Dana and Kristina in the final. Ohh well.

I was a bit surprised with Becky. I mean who was she playing against that she won a national amatuer title. I picked Jeanne after about the 3rd show as she seems the most composed. THe other girls are either playing up to the camera or are truly to nervous to play competitive golf. THe only thing I will say for sure is with the prize package this time the winner better make some cuts as with all the mini tour exemptions and $ being thrown at them there is no excuse. It's not like before where the get 2 chances and that is it. THey get an LPGA event as well as mini tour exemptions and all expenses paid. THerefore the winner has an opportunity to focus entirely on golf and gets a relatively lenghty time period to develop.

Julie had several amazing shots during the immunity challenge. Very impressive short game. Of the bunch, Kim appears to have the best flop shot. Ashley should just keep her mouth closed more often.....she's as irritating as Nikki now.

Kim has been my pick from Day 1, I hate that stupid look she does after taking a shot (looks constipated) but I think she's a great golfer, needs some work on consistency but who doesn't. I'd love to see Kim and Jeannie in the final, I don't like 200 yrd drive Julie and Ashley is just freaking annoying at this point. "I just focused and did it, I just made the ball stop beside the hole" Shut up, yes she has come through under pressure and that I respect but she should let her game do the talking. she made a comment about Julie being a foot shorter "smaller" yes she is but at least she doesn't waddle to and from the green, she should consider investing in some pants.

Jeanne is the one most likely to play her best under pressure, I think. She does lot less talking about what everybody else it doing, and she focuses on her own game. I think I'll be Jeanne and Ashley in the final.

I wanted julie and ashley out, they are both irritating. However I change my mind.
Since at least ashley had game throughout the entire series, while with one exception, julie talked trash while squeaking by, I want to see ashley thundering over julie in the finale. It would be tension filled.

I too liked the soccer mom trying against the kids, but her mental game wasn't there. Shoulda taken advantage a few times yesterday.

Kim just kind of kept hanging in and probably lasted due to poor play by other players at key times as opposed to earning it herself. When she missed that 2 footer on the first hole you knew she was done. I think Jeanne has the best chance to achieve success with getting the exemptions.

I think this is the first time where the best 2 players make it to the final in all the BB episodes. Dana is the only other participants that I can think of is good enough to be in the final.

I was extremely disappointed, as I always end up with big breaks.
After thinking it would be competitive, then watching first hole, I thought wow, birdie birdie, we are on!!!
But watching jeanne hit such bad shots was painful.
To top it off, Ashley folded from pressure as well.
Did she win? Technically, but only because Jeanne lost it, not ashley won it. Ashley had several occasions to win holes with two putts, only to leave them woefully short. If jeanne hadn't sucked so bad, it would have been closer. Sad.

Chucky's sister 'Chunky' deserved to win. She consistently had been one of the top 3 players since day one.

Jeanne did not exactly 'lose' the match. Ashley lipped out 3 times. With some luck, those putts could have gone in.

The calibre of play in BB5 is defintely higher than BB3 with that 40 yr-old what-not disguised as a 28 yr-old.

BTW, the best finale is BB2 where DD was involved. The rest of them were simply underwhelming.

Actually before the Big Break she finished 37 th on the Futures Tour for 2005. Personally I believe the Big Break helped her game.

Did anyone ever hear if the first girls Big Break runner up ever did anything beyond the show. I can't remember her name wasn't it Pam something? Anyway she had a lot of raw talent. She was a big girl like almost 6 feet tall and hit it far. She had only been golfing for like 3 years and was good enough to make the show. I remember thinking after bubble head fake boobs beat her that if I was a teacher I'd be all over her. Lots of natural talent and had an athletic background in track or something like that. Anyone know what she's doing?

I think she shot high 70's both days and missed the cut. She ended up at the very bottom of the leaderboard.

She skipped a Future's tour event to play the LPGA event, she felt that she needed to fulfill the obligation.

I heard lots of discussion around that. Seems like a tough choice to make, play in an LPGA event, or work toward the exemption for next year. I wonder if she was contractually obligated to play in the event by TGC. They sure did alot of coverage around it.
