I think we are going to have stop acting like its mind boggling a 40+ player can compete and win.Look at who is at or near that age.Ernie,VJ, Kenny Perry,Stricker and we have Tom Watson almost winning the Brit open at 60.
The 40 + can't do it syndrome is a dinosaur from the 1960's.

Mickelson, Choi and Furyk are turning 40 this year. Goosen is 41. Lots of older guys are doing well. I predict that in the next 5 years we will have at least one player over 50 win a major championship. We already avhe quite a few players on the Champions Tour who can compete with the young guys. Golfers are better conditioned than in previous generations, so those who take care of themselves can be successful later in life. We are seeing the same phenomenon in many other sports.

Great win for Ernie but..............a terrible choice on 14, hitting driver. He can't have a brain cramp like that at a major and hope to win. Ernie is one of the class acts on tour.
