One of the reasons why I really enjoy golfing is the scenery that you're in. The most beautiful course I've ever played in was in Muskoka (of course). But imagine teeing off from over a hundred feet high of granite cascading down to the fairway in large slabs like a giant stone staircase, or having forests on either side of the fairway. We encountered a couple of young does hiding in a thick brush and a fox sprinting across our path.
My favourite course by far, rating is 70.5 and slope is 128, par 70.

Very nice course, half the holes you have to hit off elevated tees situated above granite rocks.....course was well kept when we played, one hole was a doozy of a par 5....over 600 yrds, first shot needs to clear 240 yrds of junk....fairly inexpensive and listed as part of the Bronze package on the Muskoka Golf Trails.....definitely worth the drive and the money.

Played this course this week and I have to say I am VERY impressed and what a bargin for $50. The most scenic course I have ever played and the condition was superb. I had a tee time booked at The Rock but cancelled it after reading throught the forums here. My playing partner did not want to part with $200 to play Bigwinn Island so this ending up being our default location to play.

I love Muskoka golf. The scenery is the best in Ontario. Wildlife to be seen on almost every hole.
Its also nice to know not all of the Muskoka courses are $200. Thanks a lot for the heads up on this track. I'll check it out next season. This year has already cost me WAY too much to golf .... and buy golf stuff .... and play awesome away tracks .... and play tournaments .... and buy friggin gas

I've played there twice. The last time just a few days ago and yes, it is a fantastic course. Definately a "hidden gem". In addition to the scenery, it is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. It's a regular pit stop on our way up to the cottage now :)

Anyone know who designed this one and when it opened? For those that have played it, what course is it comparable to?
