How do you putt? Plenty of different techniques on display on the PGA Tour (cack-handed, claw, belly or long putter) but I'm guessing most TGNers have nerves of steel and putt conventionally...

started out as cack-handed...then stopped playing golf for a few years...when i started again..it was the normal reverse overlap..cuz i forgot how i putt before....then over this past summer..i remembered, and decided to go back to left below right grip.......

u forgot the hockey grip...like natalie gulbis

My main grip is the normal overlap grip but when I'm struggling, I switch over to the Claw. On fast greens I find I get better distance control with the claw. When I'm really doing badly, then it's time to dig out the 47" 2Ball broomstick!! :D

I never heard the term 'cack handed'. That is how I play, i call it left hand low.
Anyhew...I switched to it last season half way thru, completely changed my putting. I was only good at lagging, horrible on short putts.

Literally I would be told to putt out only 6" putts, cuz opponents knew I could screw up.

I feel it helps on short putts as your dominant right hand becomes neutral.

Unrelated/related topic: I went to the golf show today and tried a machine that measures your putting stroke. I'm sure there are many out there, but I've never been tested before. The device is called (non-advertisemnt) ScienceandMotion.canada:shhh:. I have no idea how old this product is, but it did tell me my club face on impact was 1.5 degree open:(. Supposedly they will start and demo it around GTA and GT's. It's pretty cool, you get a five page print out of how bad your putting stroke is compared to pros. :D

I use the reverse overlap, once in a while I experiment with left hand low but it still feels very strange.

I switch between a personalized grip (very similar to an overlap, just more fingers overlapping),and sometimes the left hand low grip.
