Toronto Star Amateur

Have any of you guys played in the Toronto Star Amateur? I am looking into playing in the qualifying round. It says that you have a to be member at a golf course however I e-mailed them because I am not but still want to play in it. They said that I could play as long as I get sponsored by a member course with the Toronto Star. There a tun of courses on the member list. I am guessing I should just call and speak to the pro at a course near where I live and see if they will sponsor me. Do you guys have a better idea on how I would go about getting a course to sponsor me? Also if you played in the tourney what did you think?

Just have a pro at one of the courses sign-off on your handicap. If you don't track it using the GAO/OGIN tool, then bring it in however you do track it. It shouldn't be an issue - the guys from Lionhead did it for me in the past.
