Either one could win it or miss the cut. I think driving accuarcy will be a premium at Pebble. Plus for Phil he won't be lucky enough to get a bounce off a hospitality tent...the Pacific isn't that forgiving. ;)

Take note, Mike Weir fans •• In this Monterey Herald story (http://www.montereyherald.com/usopen/ci_15068274?nclick_check=1), USGA course setup man Mike Davis is quoted as saying he thinks the new groove rule, which hasn’t made a lick of difference in PGA Tour events this year, will most definitely play a factor at the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Let’s hope so. And here’s thinking the same will be said of RBC Canadian Open host, St George’s G&CC, with its (very) tricky, plateau greens.
