Probably one of the closest finishes to any tournament lately with so many top players in the hunt. What are your highs/lows, surprises, disappointments, etc for the tournament?

I am obviously disappointed the way VJ finished but I think VJ will be VJ and he will bounce back. He can't win them all anyways!!! I think Els has got to be the most dissapointed since he had another great chance to win but failed with 4 bogeys in the round. Weir teased us for half the tournament and then dropped like a fly AGAIN. Tiger and his putter!! If it weren't for that, he would have won this tournament by 5 strokes or more. For highs, I think Jonathan Kaye should be happy walking away with 2nd place and a great confidence booster for him. Of course, Appleby for defending his title (first guy to do so in 22 yrs, Mercedes) and his remarkable 20 under par for the final 54 holes!! AMAZING STAT!!

My feeling has been that it's going to be an amzingly competitive year and this tournament confirmed it. I think that both Vijay and Ernie will be the cream of the crop with a two or three others always in the mix.

He seems to have straightened out most of his swing problems from last year. Otherwise I agree - it is going to be an amazingly competitive year and a lot of fun to watch.

It's the first tournament of the year and a lot of the guys looked a little rusty. VJ was on his game, but that one bad drive did him in. Tiger's putting was WAY off and his short game was inconsistant. The weather was certainly a factor in the last round, so I don't think you can read too much into the final round scoring as some sort of predictor of what's to come. Should be interesting.

I played on the "just for fun" pool and actually did quite alright. My score's better than a lot of ppl that I thought would beat my score hands down. I think the outcome of the pool is a reflection of how competitive and unpredictable this year will be.Either that, or I'm just good

I think the Mercedes Championship was a terrific start to the tour. There were some exciting eagles, players shooting an amazing round one day and way off the other days, and everyone was holding their breath during the 17th and 18th holes of the final round. I had a lot of fun watching. Can't wait for the next tournament. And for Tiger to do much better on his clutch putts!
