Just wondering at what age kids should transition over to a full set from those kiddie 5-7 pc sets.

Just wondering at what age kids should transition over to a full set from those kiddie 5-7 pc sets.

My personal opinion is when the kid gets to be taller than 5'2" then you can move them into a womens set. Womens clubs are very good for younger players who aren't strong enough yet to load a regular mens shaft.

Maybe I should've mentioned that this would be for a girl. Does your answer still stand? Thanks.

Yes it wouldn't make much difference whether it is a boy or a girl. You may want to consider putting her into graphite. Basically an off the wall set of womens clubs are built for women between 5'2'' and 5'7". You probablly don't want to put her on a launch monitor at this time as she is still growing. Even if she has to grip down a wee bit for a year or so until she grows that is OK. My 8 year old just got his last 5 peice set and I'm hoping when he's around 12 he'll be into a full set.
