someone told me that there is golf swing video analysis at the Woodbine golf dome. has anyone tried it? is it good? I'm thinking of doing that or the Golf Town video analysis.
If someone has any feedback on the two, I'd love to hear. Thanks!

I'm currently doing video swing analysis at the golf school at my golf club. It really is incredible the difference it can make, when accompanied by good instruction. I know for myself being able to visualize what I'm doing, and thereby understand the types of shots I make is a huge empowerment. Now that I can see some of the tendencies I have, I find it a lot easier to start undoing and countering them. Certainly before video analysis I had an intellectual understanding of what the swing and shoulder planes are, and how they are integral to the swing, but until I saw myself I didn't have a physical understanding, nor was I anywhere close to swinging as I should be. Now at least I'm on the road to a better more custom swing for my body and my needs. So if you have werewithall, I'd definitely recommend video swing analysis.

If someone has any feedback on the two, I'd love to hear. Thanks! The benefit of the video analysis is greatly dependant on who is doing the analyzing. Various professionals will look at your swing and both "see" and suggest, very different things. So if there is someone around with a good reputation, then go to him/her.
The concept of plane that was mentioned above is very significant, however, professionals do disagree as to which planes are important. Regardless of whom you go to see, there are really only three essential positions that you should strive for, and video analysis will confirm where you are. (1) hands ahead of the ball at impact/separation, (2) back of the lead hand should be FLAT at impact (3) the club head comes into the ball from inside the target line.
In learning a good golf swing, feel seldom equals real. What you feel you are trying to do or doing, may not be what you are actually doing. Constantly being able to relate a feel in your swing to what you see on video, is a great way to improve faster so get yourself taped as frequently as you can. Good luck.

Well, I definitely heard the GolfTown Swing Analysis at Woodbine and 7 was good from one person who tried it. Haven't heard about the Golf Dome at woodbine though it's more expensive.
Thanks, good to know!

So far, my instructor hasn't used any type of video analysis, but I'm not sure if he wants to for the future. The thing I like about my instructor is that he works with what you already have. I don't like teachers who believe that there is only one way to do something. As Shadow said, there are a few things that must happen in any good golf swing. How you get there is a different story.
