Hey,

Just curious, who was the oldest player to get their tour card?
How old were they?

Canadian Jim Rutledge was up there when he earned his card a few years ago. Not sure if he is the oldest.

Just ran a quick Google search, seems like it is Sam Snead, who aged 67 years, 2 months, 21 days made the cut at the 1979 Manufacturers Hanover Westchester Classic.

Just a guess, but Allan Doyle and Rutledge have got to be close.... i think each got their card the year before they qualified for the Champions Tour.

Carrying/getting a tour card is alot different than making the cut in a tour event.

Direct quote from the PGATOUR website.
"The win propelled Rutledge into the Nationwide Tour's Top 20 on the final money list and meant the one thing he attempted to attain in nearly 30 years of grinding was finally his. He earned his place on the PGA TOUR in 2007, becoming the second oldest rookie in TOUR history, just a month younger than Allen Doyle (http://www.pgatour.com/players/00/72/67/)."

Not a bad guess from a rookie!!!
Thanks for researching that, very interesting that a Canuck is that guy! I think that it was up until recently that Bob Panisuk was the youngest to play in a Tour event.

I really wasn't saying anything, just providing some info copied from the PGATOUR website.
So do you have a funky swing like Doyle or are you approaching fifty? Or both? :)
