I just did a websearch and think that I have an inflammation of the tendons at the base of my left thumb and wrist. It started last week after a lengthy range session, and it is getting worse.
Apparently, De Quervain's is a repetitive strain injury, and can affect golfers as a result of overextending the backswing.
Has anyone else ever suffered this ailment? What are the available treatment options? Most importantly, will I be able to recover in time for the two rounds I have scheduled for next weekend? :)

Funny.
I think Gore's problem is in his elbow.
Did anyone catch the Golf Channel coverage on Friday of Gore's last tee shot? The club flew just right of the camera. Great shot!

I have been dealing with this in both my elbows for 2 years. I also have the knee issue Tiger had a few years ago. One thing that has helped is exercises specific to golfers elbow. I also use Tiger balm after I play or hit balls and use a tensor bandage particularily at the range. Not sure how old you are but this generally starts happening in your late 30's to early 40's. Isn't growing old wonderful?

I had similar problem and it took 2 months to completely heal for me to hit a golf ball. I used a wrist brace during the day. Suggest you get therapy for faster results.

Physiotherapy consisting on ultra sound, frictions and ice/heat. Prescription anti-inflammitories will also help. Strengthening exercises designed by the physio will help but over time. Good luck

I also find that a copper/magnetic bracelet has helped too. If you are into alternative medicine there is a natural remedy you can get at the health food store. THe last time I was there they suggested it to me and I think I'm going to try it because everything else has not worked. Surgery/cortizone is the last alternative on my list.
