I prefer walking, makes me feel healthier.... though golf carts are pretty fun too, especially when you're trying to knock your partner off the cart

I have a feeling this group is biased towards walking!

i like walking too. i don't feel as rushed and can enjoy the scenery as i go to play my next shot. it also gives me a chance to cool down if i hit a crappy shot.

Cart. It's fun to drift your cart on the walkway and sometimes on the fairway.

I like walking better because I feel more camaraderie (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=camaraderie) with the group. When you're in a cart it feels more like a twosome.

LoL...i wonder where you got that word from camaraderie, sounds awfully familiar...

cart is fun, drive around, less likely to break a sweat on those hot days but in the end, walking is what i prefer, get to enjoy the real beauty of the course.

walking...to me it really seems like the only real active thing ur doing while playing golf so might as well get some form of excersise out of it!..

also, it might be a stereotypical survey, and excluding seniors...most ppl I see walking seem fairly in shape, while the ones in a golf carts tend to be a bit more chubbier......

Definately walking. Its more relaxing, you take your time, enjoy the course. Talk sh*t to your fellow group and you stay warmed up and loose. Aside from those reasons, you actually play faster than if you were in a cart. Everyone goes to their ball and you always have your clubs with you. No more running back to the cart for a club. Thats why I don't like mandatory cart rules. Grass is meant to be walked on anyways.

funny enough, i have found that carts are actually slower too. but i guess that depends on the players. if both players are spraying the ball to either side of the fairway it can take a lot of time.

the 90 degree rule really slows down play in a case like that. especially if you can't park on the fairways when your ball is in the middle of the fairway. ;)

I prefer walking but when a course has a lot of hills then a cart is a better option.

The last couple of courses I played, I think carting would have been a better option. It was a long distance between holes and very hilly. It's too bad carting is so expensive. However walking has its benefits... buns of steel!:p Also I think walking, you can enjoy the scenery a lot more when walking.

Funny you should mention knocking your partner off the cart. I actually through my partner out of the cart by accident and he's a pretty big guy!

During those REALLY hot summer days I prefer to cart it. But as of lately when things cooled down walking is a good way to keep the body warm! :hyper:

I prefer to use the pull cart...cause I'm too damn cheap to rent a golf cart. Otherwise..golf cart all the way. I guess walking is okay too.. :)

most young people i talk to say they'll walk it, good exercise, saves money, etc etc...i can see why women would use a pull cart or golf cart even due to the weight of the clubs and bag. but for men, as you age, your physical condition may not allow you to carry your clubs on your back no more, as this is the case for a few of my friends ;)

Walking, unless the course is designed to be played on a power cart. You know the ones ... lots of up and downs and usually a 100 yard hike between green and tee.

Walking is better as you can assess your shot as you are walking up to it. Carts don't offer the time nor the physical perspective on the shot.

Great. Sliding your cart around on the fairway? Why?

I have a feeling this group is biased towards walking!I walk with a pull cat. I have a tour bag and it has some weight to it. Walking 18 with it could be dangerous to your health.
I've have had cadies, at some of the course down south, cringe when they lift it. I don't mind an electric cart if it's require (charities, cart only courses, etc.) and will uses one on the hot humid days.
