WOW...some low numbers today. Last year there were 27 PGA cards handed out with a tie for those spots at -9. This year it looks like that number might not even get a sniff. Guys better go low at least one day to have an opportunity.

Interesting...Stephanie Wei (weiunderpar blog) tweeted that Hadwin has the largest following of anyone at Q-School. Some big names there too.

You can follow all the Canadians here also for a quick review after the day is finished. Both men and women.

Stewie Anderson is hanging in there. He is 32nd at -4 thru 4 holes today (Sat). The Victoria Times Colonist does an update every morning with Hadwin, Stewie etc. I hope they have caddies. I went to the Canadian Tour event at Desert Dunes and most of the boys were carrying with a stand bag. Its on TV today at noon (Pacific). The most compelling TV golf (including the majors imho) is Monday at Q School last stage.

With 2 days to go....

Ryan Yip moved into T21.

Hadwin had a tough 4th round and currently T41.

Fritsch had an even tougher day, fell from T9 on day 3 all the way to T50.

C'mon Canada!!!

Not the best name for a golfer....GO CANADA!!!

Well, I was pretty optimistic after 36 and 54 holes that Canada might have a couple of successful qualifiers at Q-School. The 5th of 6 rounds is now mostly in the books and it looks like the number will either -7 [where it is now] or -8 unless it is a very tough weather day tomorrow. Unfortunately no Canadian is close- for any of them to make it they will have to be absolutely "lights out" tomorrow.

Yip -4 after 15
Fritsch -3 after 18
Anderson -3 after 18
Hadwin even after 18

Unless I missed someone the rest are further back.

Dec 5, 2011, 05:50 PM
Looks like no Canadian made it thru Q school --Yip was -7 and -8 was the cut off ---at least full status on the Nationwide Tour

Dec 5, 2011, 06:10 PM
Most will get conditional Nationwide status while Yip, Fritsch are the only ones to get full Nationwide Tour cards by the looks of things.

I think it's a little disappointing that nobody made it through...

check Yips scorecard

he will be kicking himself birdie on 13 then bogeys on 14 and 15, birdie on 16, bogey 17, birdie 18

alot of coulda shoulda woulda

Dec 5, 2011, 07:35 PM
this is brutal .....i thought hadwin was a lock to get his card starting the event.

There is never a "lock" when it comes to Q School. There are a lot of "should haves" that didn't.

Why did I think Richard Lee was Canadian?

EDIT Of course... there are two Richard Lee pro golfers... doh!
