Does anyone know of a driving range, unlimited balls, that are opened in the summer? The one by the skydome shut down and that was a great place to go. Metro Golf Dome is unlimited but is closed during the summer.

I find the buckets are never worth the price. Paying by time is worth it.

Location - Toronto please.

The Launch is open - Steeles and 400.

I don't get how time is a better deal than a bucket, though. When timed, you have to hit quickly to get a good deal and you can't get good practice when whacking away. I find it is far better value to buy a bucket at a place where you can use the same balls for bunker, pitching, putting etc as well as proper hitting off the grass tee deck.

I have signed up for an unlimited ball deal for the summer over at McCowan and 14th Driving Range. Speak with Jason or Sue there. They will cut you a deal. I hit on an average about 2 Jumbos a day over a period of 2.5 to 3 hours. Can't tell you the price, but this much I can tell you, I joined at the end of April and it has already paid for itself with a few months of the season still left to go. Make sure you stop by and say hello if you do sign up :)

I agree with that as well. If all you're after is a workout, then timed ranges is the way to go. You can swat balls almost continuously without a break and hit much more than a bucketfull, but about the only constructive thing about it is that you're getting a lot of exercise, not actually "working" on your game. If you take the time to go through a pre-shot routine before every ball, you're actually "wasting time".

i agree with everyone else. slow down your time at the range. try to simulate a real shot with every ball. take breaks in between shots every now and then. see if you can hit a good shot after one of those breaks. don't hit the same shot twice in a row.

I agree 100%. I typically hit 2 XL buckets in a single session, but it'll take me well over 2 hours because I take the time to setup correctly and hit each ball like I would in an actual round of golf. Doing it any other way isn't really practicing.

That's the thing, I go with a friend and share the pad. I hit 5-7 balls then sit down. This is continuous and you also have someone watching you to see if you are doing anything obviously wrong. Plus, you get to share the pad and the price for the hour. I use to go to Skydome one and it was sooooo worth it. When it was the special night deals, it was 10-15 for 2 hours!

It is called Golf Range on 14th Avenue. KISS theory, I guess :)

I was over there yesterday for 2 reasons yesterday. I got 2 jumbo buckets and went to the mats. I used the first bucket to work on my new 3 wood so I hit about 20 balls with my wedges (my heaviest clubs) to warm up, then hit the rest of the bucket with only my 3 wood. That took almost 1½ hours, taking my time between each shot. My 2nd bucket was for nothing but a workout. I used nothing but my 9 iron aimed at the 150 marker. That took only 25 minutes, only taking enough time between shots to retreave another ball and set up properly. After the workout, I felt great. I accomplished everything I wanted with both buckets.

I was at Launch on Thursday night for their 2hr/$30 deal. We had 3 people, including myself, and it was perfect. The time to rest, drink water, and talk made the price so worth it.

Just a little FYI. lol...

Also, Launch on Sunday night is a good deal. 2 hours for $25 or so. Plus its usually not that busy on Sunday night.
