Has anyone heard of www.parpatrol.com (http://www.parpatrol.com)? It is a great membership club that offers deals on green fees, instruction and equipment. The membership is on $30 for the year and the deals are awesome. They also email special exclusive deals every week to members.

Check it out, it is pretty cool.

This club rocks! I tried it out last year (it was much smaller I think) and even then, for $30, I probably saved about $500 on courses that I play... one of the best things is - unlike those coupon books like Passport and Access, not only do you not have to lug around a book - but I can reuse most of the discounts over and over - unlike one time use and it's gone with the books.

I just bought my 2005 membership yesterday, and received a free hour of instruction with Henry Brunton - how great is that? That's probably $100 in savings right there!!!

Anyway, glad you brough this up Duffer, I'm a member for life now...

What are some of the discounts and for what courses? I'll check out the website, but need to hear some opinion on this.

All the ones for the Golden Horseshoe are listed on the front page of the site so you can preview them (you can't generate the deals until you're signed-in and a paid member)... There's 4-for-3's, 2-for-1's, Cart Deals, Instruction and something I just noticed they added - vacation deals (for those of us who can afford golf travel!) It looks like the way it works is if you're a member of Par Patrol and you book a vacation with Ultimate Golf Vacations, you give them your membership# then Par Patrol gives you a rebate on the cost of your vacation... May have to try this for a stag I have in the planning to South Carolina.

When I was a member last year, it was really easy to use...you login, and search the deals, then when you find what you want, you hit a button and it sends the discount coupon right to your printer - which you redeem at the course...I'm finally free of that heavy book!

Looks like they're going to be at the Golf Show this weekend too...

I looked into this - and some courses have some good deals - but there really aren't that many offered.

I have found the 2005 Golfbook to be a better deal. It has courses ALL OVER ONTARIO and i think there are more 2-for-1's in there as well

The book is currently on sale at golf stores for $54

I suggest you look before plunking down any money!

The owner of Par Patrol was on a radio station in Hamilton talking about their deals. What makes them better than the books is that each Sunday, golfers get exclusive deals emailed directly to them that they can redeem that week. And since they are an online business, courses and businesses are always being added and deals are being updated all the time.

I have used those golf books in the past and I have found that 99% is a waste because most of those courses are too far from me. This par patrol membership is better because I can just keep using the same deals and I can get different ones emailed to me every week.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

that sounds pretty good since you can reuse certain deals!

Par Patrol seems pretty cool because they also email special deals each week. They are at the Toronto Golf Show this weekend so I am going to check them out. They are supposed to have some wicked deals on memberships.

Their deals at the golf show are going to be pretty good and they are going to have a bunch of contests. On the radio they said it was going to be $5 off for a single and you can keep saving if you buy more for your playing partners. I think it is only $80 if you buy 4. For $20 each, it is a pretty sweet deal especially with the courses they have.

I just heard about these guys on the Bob Sherwin Golf radio show here in Hamilton... Exclusive Weekly Deals in my Inbox every Monday on top of the regular deals they have? I'm sold... Bye Bye discount book!

Just heard that I get a Par Patrol Membership when I join the Duffer's Dream Tour too.... wicked.
