So I just got new irons and I just can't believe how long they are. My old irons were Maxfli Revolution Black Dots with Standard L/L/L S300 shafts. My new irons are Ping I E1 red dots which is standard length (these clubs come 1/4" longer), .5 degree flat and 1degree stronger (these irons come this way as well). Here are my yardage comparisons:

I find that my miss with with my new ping irons is to hit fat so I'm thinking cutting the shafts down .5"
side note, I dabbled with a few different Mizuno MP irons, callaway prototype blades and scratch irons and they all played shorter than my Maxfli's.
any thoughts are welcome.
